1. This post came first.
2. Who ever said anything about anyone "hand[ing] their work over to someone else"? Please quote where this has been said.
You won't find it, because I never said that. I simply said that RE Amemiya and other JDM tuners have partially cracked the ECU and have been reflashing it for JDM owners. So the ECU is crackable. That was my only point. In JDM they don't even sell any kind of "handheld flasher" or whatever. You have to send them your ECU or bring your car into their shop. Obvious issues for getting yours done, eh?

Sorry to stray off the topic of this thread but do they mention anything about the artwork on the cover? Or is it just that artwork? http://www.jdm-option.com/

I personally don't see the point. It sounds like a REALLY expensive equivalent to a very small centrifugal supercharger...robs the low end and doesn't do jack until you wind it up. Given that everyone already bitches about the lack of low end on this thing, why would anyone do this...maybe for drag racing and dyno bragging rights (can you really brag about stock+30hp?) but no way for anything street driven.

The engine hasn't even been tested yet (as they just got the parts and assembled it) so they are looking at getting it running and seeing what it'll do N/A. After that...
Yeah... zero overlap will be gone on this FEED engine, and low-end torque will be down further they say, but they are hoping for better gains from the mid-range on up.
