Fuel Pump Solution - All Failure Modes
May want to include the fuel injector clamp as part of the kit. I could not find any store within an hour drive that had a non crimp clamp that would go small enough. Found plenty that would go down to 11mm, but nothing smaller.
Huh? The problem is the opposite - you need more "O" ring height to get the pump to sit in the proper position.
It won't "bulge", it'll fall in!
You put the additional "O" ring on the pump above the existing factory "O" ring.
Look at the pictures of the pumps. The Walbro has a lower shoulder that needs to be accommodated.

I have checked to make sure that everything seated flush and no extra debris in the way.. SoI'm confused....
MazdaManiac,
I just realized that you changed the modification to the siphon tube from enlarging the siphon venturi to 1/8 inch to just melting the pop off cap on to the siphon tube.
I have already enlarged my venturi to the 1/8 inch per your earlier instructions. Should I replace it with a stock one and then melt the pop off cap on, or is it safe to melt the cap onto my already modified siphon tube?

I noticed you removed the part of drilling an 1/8? bit through the ventrai and added melting the popoff valve is the drilling still neccessary/benificial? question bump for mrslysly
Apparently, drilling the venturi was emptying the fuel bowl faster than it could refill it.
When the fuel level would get to a point that the pump was no longer submerged, the pump would empty the bowl entirely.

did you get my package.. it was the one without a obscure scotch.. i thought it would be cheap this time..
just wondering?
beers
Understand why now.

Hey Jeff: Could you update the first post with the specifics on the o-ring thickness and diameter or part number? I need to run down to Lowes this weekend to get one but will need my car running to do it first.
Thanks!

Thanks!
Victory is mine!
Man that retaining ring is a PITA. Once I figured out the surf/skate style technique and had the wife on the cheater bar it moved with no problem.
The o-ring size I used was1-5/16"ID, 1-9/16"OD and 3/8" wall.
I used a 1/4" hose clamp but a smaller one would have been better.
Thanks for the help Erick, Dan, and Ray!

I dunno - I think its about $24 in shipping each way and you would be sending a pump back anyway, so it probably isn't an issue.
We'll have more than one tool out there!
Soooooo..... Mazda Maniac, maybe your pm's dont work.
Are you interested in doing the tune for my car when my s/c kit is done. I choose you because your are the best tunner for the RX8 with the cobb and the cobb is more developed then my previous choice.
I have not been able to get a response from you lately, maybe my pm's have been getting lost in the massive amounts of pm mail you must be receiving
Ben

Sorry, Ben.
I don't get to PMs too often and, when I do, they fill up as fast as I can answer them.
Use my e-mail - at least that ends up in my face eventually.
Just look at the first post and you can see it! lol
