Quick question, how much is this going set you back? I'm actually looking to do a 20b for my 88 FC that I have in my back yard. I've found a few, just haven't picked one up yet. Anyways what's the purpose of just having straight line performance. Unless it's a funny car or rail car it's still going to need to turn. It's like hey look at me, I'm going straight really FASSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!! BOOM! oh **** there was a wall there, now if he could have turned the car he would have avoided that wall and he'd still be here with us. Seriously think about all your options before you take that final step. Finally 20b's not being reliable? where did you hear that from? See Pist On People don't understand Rotaries, and what do the say, people fear the unknown.

this is a video of my car along time ago, it only has straight pipe and jicmagic titanium exhaust with no turbo or any other upgrades. It back fired alot, this is just a clip, it sounded great too. My buddy in his Evo 9 was recording it, he was impressed.

i know it's been said before but i wonder how dramatically this would shift not only weight distribution between front and rear but just center of gravity in general.
that said.. at least its unique.

You realize a 20B can produce 1000rwhp and remain streetable right?

**** who cares about power. I challenge you to an auto-x when you're done with you 1000+ rwhp rx8, and I'll use my rx8 with the stock motor. You said any track right? Ok, sounds good to me.

sickestRX,

Do you al ready selected the turbine? wich one you have plans to use?
You are goin to keep the electronic power steering of the RX8?

I always love to see projects, step by step
Keep working,

Manuel

nice progress there guy. Things are going to be absolutely tight in that engine bay. You'll definitely need custom intake duct. Can you fit a strut bar across that engine bay with no problem? Then you're going to need custom plumbing for radiator to engine. Also what's your solution for fitting the cooling fan in the engine bay? Of course I still want to see the results. The reason I was flamin ya earlier is I don't like seeing piston engines in a rotary car, but to each his own I guess. Well good luck.

Greddy T88 or HKS turbos are the one that will be most likely used, it is going be be a single turbo, manuel do you have any suggestions on the turbo? if you do please let me know, what kind of turbos are you using?

its not a problem man, i know there is a lot of custom work involved, radiator will be customized so is the intake duct. The strut bar has not been tried yet but if it doesnt fit, definitely there will be some custom work done. The guy moved the engine a little backward which solved the problem of the cooling fan, on the pictures the room is not visible but there is plenty of room for the cooling fan and the intercooler. I will post pics of the cooling fan area next week and if you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Why do you want a T-88? Do you just like no engine response and HUGE (measured in seconds!) turbo lag??? Get a smaller down to earth realistic turbo in there and make yourself a useable combination. I don't care what the Supra guys do to their cars, I would copy absolutely NOTHING from those guys if you like a nice powerband that you can really use and be proud of. The Supra guys just don't get it. Pure and simple. They like a high peak number and can get it but that's all it is. I don't care if they can make 1000+ hp. Not impressive when you look at the powerband.

Be the first person to do a twin screw supercharger on a Supra motor. That would be cool. Would it be 1000+ hp? Probably not but THAT would be a show stopper!!! Everyone has a huge turbo Supra engine. Big deal. That's not unique or terribly newsworthy anymore. Be different. If you want to stand out it's going to take more than doing the same old thing but in a different car. So what? Been done before. Do something no one has seen. Engine transplants are common. An engine is an engine and a car is a car. Show me a supercharged Supra engine. That's unique.

Sickest,

I use a T70 turbonetics ball bearing, I don't have turbo lag, it responds so quickly!
I can use a bigger turbine but with this T70 I maked 525HP at 14 psi of boost.
With a bigger turbine I can have more horsepower but unusable.

Before buy any turbine be sure that can fit, with the 3 rotor we don't have to many space,
and I see your pictures and it looks that you have less space than us to work. Before buying the turbine be 100% that can fit. find some one that have a broken turbine of the one's that you whant and make all the pipe with it, that the way that we maked!

Consider Innovative they makes great turbines and they are basically smaller than garrett's of the same power, but they are expensive!

Regards,

Manuel

Thanks for the info manuel, yeah I am very familiar with the Innovative turbos and they are really good and expensive. I ordered a turbo from them and they took more than 3 months just to get it done and they made a mistake on the size of the turbo. The turbos are really good but they just take long sometimes. Innovative is what I am interested in.

I think you could still have that rediculous horsepower number too. The superchargers on cobras are out there making extremely high horsepower. Granted that is on a V8 but still.... that would be impressive!
