Of course, NO.

That car has a custom turbo.........is using a Garret GT35 the manifold is custom made.

Our proyect is that we're goin to install on my car the same things (ECU, injectors, fuel rail, damper, etc) that in the blue one exept the turbo, we're goin to try the keep greddy turbo. Let'see how much HP we can get. If we're not satisfy we're goin to remove it. It's suposse to handle 400 HP
but I'm really looking to get only 350HP on this step.

Ok,

Today a leave my car on the shop.............
Galdy "El psiquiatra" is goin to begin the installation tomorrow,
I just take a picture of the new 850 cc injectors.
I would try to visit the shop next wednesday to see how goes the work.

There is other picture of the work that Galdy do on the blue one...............
He replaced the factory gauges and installed new ones on the factory
cage.

On the Red one (mine) we don't need to do that,
the factory ECU would be controlling all the gauges.

Let's see what happen!

Regards,

Manuel

Wow. You are really chopping up the car, aren't you?

I'm not sure I understand that kind of "interest". I like the RX-8 the way Mazda designed it. Anything I change, I do so with the intent of the mod being mostly invisible. It is only the effect I want, not the impression.
It seems like your car will be a purpose-built race car by the time you are done. Is that what you wanted?

The mechanic changed all the gauges on the blue RX8, that is not mine. I meet the owner because we use the same mechanic. I saw him all the time at the shop and we talked a lot, very nice person..............
He likes the factory gauges but the problem was that the factory gauges don't worked with the ECU that he installed (they remove all the factory cables) soo he needed to install other gauges. In my opinion I prefer to use black gauges but the owner likes more the white ones.

On my car I'm goin to keep the factory gauges.
See we're I have my boost and temperature gauges.............

I'm not looking to have a race car...........
What I wanted?
I just want to have a fast car and show to the rotary engine fans
that this new engine can produce nice HP!
Now a lot of RX7 owners show respect to our cars................

Yes..........
We also installed the emanage inside of one of the plastic cover of the passenger seat
to don't use all the room on the gloves compartment.

Attached is a picture of the ports of the car.......
The mechanic removes the 6 ports from the factory to have more air.
There is also a picture of the factory injectors that he removed.
He have working for just 2 days...............
On the next days he goes to install the new fuel rail.etc, etc.
I think that in 5-7 days more the car would be finished.
I can't wait!

wait... you removed the auxiliary port sleeves so they're open all the time!!!??

won't that make the car lose a lot of low end until you get up to boost? and you'll get a lot of intake charge reversion at low rpm.... The renesis ports are big enough as it is!

oye yo vivo en Michigan pero soy de Vega Alta y voy de visita del 21 al 27 de este mes... yo aca tengo un twin turbo del 93 pero alla estoy a pie :p enviame tu telefono por pm y quizas pueda ir a ver tu carro?

Yes, this is a bad idea for a street-driven vehicle. The off-boost response is going to suck - especially compared to a stock RX-8.

This work was maked already on the Blue RX8 and works perfect on low rpm.
Remember this is not the only change that we're making at the same time.
When we finish, you would see...........

Remember my car is not for a daily drive use....................

Neit,

el carro no creo que este antes del 20 de Mayo pero debe estar listo antes
del 27. Yo soy de Manati pero puedes pasar por el taller de mecanica el psiquiatra en Bayamon a verlo cuando gustes.

It seemed like you were working on your daily driver like the rest of us.
That is why we have different expectations.

How does leaving the ports open really gain anything? I could possibly see a slight gain in the upper-mid range. But the ports are open at the top anyway, so you'd gain nothing there. Just doesn't seem like the loss on the low side would be worth it.

It non so much that he is opening the ports as that he has removed the valves.
Now the ports are effectively HUGE.

Sometimes I use it for 3 days in a row sometimes don't use it for a week.

I don't use my RX8 every day, but if I want I can use it every day.

But I agree with you, our expectations are different. I don't refer only
to your expectations, I'm talking about that all the member of this forum
have different expectations.

For example, I'm not worry about how much miles per galon, if it loud, pass emission test,
etc. etc. Remember that Puerto Rico is a US territory but we don't have the same
regulations that in the states.

We start the car today without problems..............

We set the new ECU to cut off at 8,500 rpm or 16 psi boost.
It also has a knock sensor.
All the electronics are working fine with the factory ECU.
Before put the car on the dyno we're goin to run the car for a few days
to be sure that we don't have any problem.
The timing is already changed and we don't have idle problems or problems at low boost.
I "open" the car just one time to see how responds and now "opens" MORE faster, this is another car................

I'm goin on vacations with my kids to disney world this saturday but my mechanic would be working with the tuner on the car next tuesday, I'm goin to call him to know how much ponies we have now!

Hey Manuel i really love your 8 and all the job you and your mechanic are doing...Great is the least i can say...

I am really considering greddy turbo with some mods to get the best out of it or a good supercharget kit(there is not a good one till now though)..My car is a daily driver and i have canzommer midpipe+5' cat, greddy sp2,racing beat revi,ms flywheel, richard paul short shifter from the "mechanic" angle...

Well i am considering the mazdaspeed radiator for next expensive mod,the racing beat ram-air when this goes in public and some pulleys...The prob right now is i don't know which pulleys...Sr or Unorthodox???What would you say from your experience with the sr???

As for the major hp upgrade i believe a greddy kit, greddy rs bov, greddy oil pan, greddy oil catch can, revi+ramair besides the airinix and profec 0-1 for controlling everything(stage 1) and maybe hks ecu besides the emanage(stage 2) and if my pocket isn't empty till then, bigger intercooler, bigger turbine+everything else needed to be changed to work(stage 3)...What do you think with that thoughts???

I belive the stage 1 is the best option for a safe daily car right??

Sorry for the big post guys..
