I am so pleased at jumping at the chance to purchase this during the sale.

Its just so much!!!

Its got so much potential its scary! This turbo flows so much, that when the ports open at 6K and 7K, its like hitting a 50 shot of nitrous. Once the flow path is there its just rediculous how much the car pulls. And the thing is that there's no lag above 4-5K!!! Theres just no lag, I'm cruising and I push down the pedal and I get pull!!! This is honestly the perfect size turbo for my rx8. I challange any potential buyer to drive my car and see exactly what I'm talking about, its freaking insane.

I can easily see this thing making 400rwhp.

I love the spool sound, its so loud and aggressive, and the gigantic "woosh" of the BOV, its crazy!!!

I can't say enough good things about this kit!

Any pics of the whole kit installed on the 8 Static ? That would be awesome to get some in depth pics of the kit installed.

Nope, its just a high flow pump upgrade. Shouldn't be necessary for this application 400+. Certainly optional if the person really wants a return style system.

Yeah, I can take some and post them up today or tomorrow. I cleaned up the bay (zip tied lines, ran INTx laptop cord into cabin using spot behind heater core) I just need to install my oil catch can.

One other deboggle I ran into last night after I finished a bit of tuning. I overtightened my oil return line and it snapped in half. Damn aluminum fittings half a quart of oil went everywhere on my garage until I could get a pan under it. Luckly I bought a 3/8 NPT tap that I talked about a few pages ago for my oil temp gauge.

So I ordered a fitting from a local shop (-10AN to 3/8NPT male-male) so I'm going to tap my oil pan. Will make it easier to change oil in the future.

I might tap the block... I'll see what kind of clearance I have when I take off the pan.

Well, at least the turbo got a 500 mile oil change

FIY

NPT - National Pipe Tapered - threads are at an angle for better sealing along the whole thread length. Top of screw will be physically of a smaller diameter than the base of the screw.

NPS - National Pipe Straight - threads are straight. Diameter of the Screw/whatever is equal. These are regular screws!

A NPS will somewhat fit into a NPT hole, but it will most likely ruin it for actual NPT fittings and be rather weak for high pressure things. A NPT will not fit correctly into a NPS hole. You may get some sealing, but the lock won't be positive.

NPS taps you can find at any hardware store, very common for simple household applications

NPT taps are more plumbing/high pressure applicaitons. So if you need one, check plumbing or speciality pipe stores. If you can't find one in town ebay has tons.

NPS - the torque applied to the screw upon initial tightening provides the seal.
NPT - how far it is screwed in provides the seal, the threads seal themselves, relieving stress that would otherwise be placed on the head of the screw.

We are working on that as well...we will be mum on details until we've completed full testing. As for an update on our ignition system...we've had a few more turbo orders and so it has caused a further slow down in completion. When it is ready we'll announce it to all of you guys immediately.

What is the purpose of an oil catch can or like a greddy oil pan? Is it like and extra oil resevoir so there is no oil starvation? Is it neccessary to have?

An oil catch can "catches" excess oil and vapors pumped out of the engine due to an overfill of oil. Stock, the vapors and oil are dumped back into the intake, and thus the engine.

Yes do it...buy a Sports package 6sp RX-8 used with many miles for cheap (compression tested before purchase of course) which will be nice and light. Then bolt on the Esmeril kit. Evil can ride again

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to get those ports to open as soon as you hit boost at any RPM?

I've been thinking about your set up Dan since you stopped by the shop & I would definetely look into extending the wiring on the Int-X (if possible?) and moving that somewhere else a bit more solid & hidden, especially since you have that giant cord to plug into your laptop.

the serial cable plugs into the front of the int-x. No way to move it besides relocating the int-x elsewhere.

Thats what I was referring too. Relocating the entire Int-X itself. Sorry if my post was confusing.
