Engine swap and DTC's

Hey everyone. Is there a way to erase the dtc codes, permanently? I have an obdII scan tool which erases the codes but since the codes are for things that are not connected(such as maf, iat, O2, app sensor, etc) it keeps throwing the same 13codes. For those who don't know, I've swapped my engine and I'm using a Haltech along with the stock computer for power steering, gauges(oil, water, tach, speed) and etc. The problem that I have is that the computer is in limp mode (I'm guessing) and the battery charging system is not working to it's max potential. I'm only seeing 13.2-3 volts the most. When I use the scan tool (elm327) I erase the codes and the system works fine(battery voltage jumps to 14.5-6-7 and as soon as the ecu detects the problems it goes back to limp mode(about 5secs later). I'm not using Atr software(Access Port) whic I believe can bypass these codes. Is there another solution?

Premixing won't help much if your OMP is not working...

Unless...

You meant that you're using a Sohn OMP adapter.

Oh... and make sure to say good bye to your apex seals without a working OMP.

Yeah ok, you obviously don't know what you're talking about! Do you even know anything about premixing and how it's done??? Sorry but, please refrain from newbie answers.

He could do away with OMP or SOHN if he use a heavy dose of premix.

very true, premix heavy enough and loose the OMP all together.

then you have to face something we were discussing recently: no more oil on deceleration. Maybe thats OK,maybe not. I tend to think that its OK in a motor built for power or purpose as it isnt expected to last as long. I think its not OK for a DD.

But back on topic.... the reason dannobre asking is because the OMP can throw the caqr into limp mode. I havent looked it up in the FSM, but you may have to find another way. I know someone around here lost the OMP, but hd t keep it physically connected so that the PCM though it was doing its job

No OMP = no throttle......car goes into limo mode without it...if you are using a cable throttle.....your problem is likely another thing that doesn't work when the ECU is in limp mode. The ECU contrlos the charging system 100%

It will work for 5 sec or so till it does a self assessment routine.....and then it will quit

You need to leave it plugged in if you want the ECU to behave....and as far as I know there is no way around it with the stock ECU

I've been premixing since 2002 when I installed a haltech and gt3540 on my fd with no problems at all. I'll try and see if connecting the oil metering pump will get me anywhere. Thanks for your help. I am using a regular cable accelerator and basically don't need anything from the stock system except the charging, tachometer, speedo and radio and climate control.

When I did mine...the throttle was the "limp mode" problem I had....was thinking that everything else was working..and was going to go with a mechanical throttle....never noticed the alt problem

You could control the Alternator with the Haltech ...and then you may be good to go......
