Personnally, I'm impressed how easily you seem to have started it! I also easily maintains its idle.
Good work!

Respect? I simply commented on your video. If you don't wish to be misunderstood, then provide more information. I don't owe you anything and I certainly won't censor myself just because you are delicate. **** off.

It's common practice in the automotive engine development industry to start engines on starting rigs without ancilliaries and with minimal provision for cooling before installing them on a dynamometer.

Hey man, are you going to be working with the leading and trailing spark timing? I remember Rotary God saying something about it a while back...

I'll be doing more in depth study of it within the next couple of weeks on brillo's car. The way I'm talking about doing it is only done at idle and not everywhere else like I am going to do it and it's a little understood concept. It does work. It's just figuring out the settings that are the hard part.

Very cool video. It sounded a LOT better than I thought it would for just having a header.

Well the engine is now bolted up to the Dyno, and we are just waiting for the owner/operator of the dyno to let us know when he has time. He is a busy guy, and spends most of his time on his chassis dyno. Hopefully next week will be the go, and I will report back then. Today and the weekend are out as Grandad has 3 cars to get loaded into the race transporter, and then a weekend of racing to deal with. Hopefully I'll get some nice footage of the 20B running with the in-car camera stuff I have been mucking around with.

Leading/Trailing spark are handled independantly of each other via the MoTeC.

We have also bolted the Cat onto the header (via a small elbow to clear the dyno's retarder) to help get closer to "real word" RX-8. Then we have the custom header pipes to try out as well. I already know how good they sound on Wildcard's car.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Hey, look what CERAMICSEAL said over at RX7Club

So whats 265 at the flywheel in RWHP????

dunno if i'd believe that without something backing it up besides one guy's hear-say, uneducated opinion. he was talking about the "right" seals to make the power... no seal will give you substantially more power than stock.

I have seen a renesis equiped car do 230 whp BUT i dont know what mods this car has, so 265 hp its not out of the question I really want to see some one like you hymee or guitarjunkie do it, that way the potential of the renesis will finally be shown.

ceramicseal its a very well known guy in the rx-7 comunity.

i heard mention of rick engman building the engine.. that guy is one hell of a builder, BUT when you say "reman" engine, i think of a stock engine--stock ports, stock manifolds. no doubt the engine is ultimately capable of those numbers, but i want some proof of a "stock" engine doing it.

OK. There is nothing to argue about yet on this, my thread! I haven't even posted any results to argue about! That motor running on the vid, and now bolted up to the dyne, is stock, unopened. Ran a 13.0 in an 808 wagon over 2 years ago.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Probably about 230. Think about it.
