DynamicDookie's Turbo (Greddy) Install
I want to be a overboosted overlord so here's my turbo thread.
Picked it up last night from JRX Rotary in Baldwin Park, CA. Not only did Juni do a super clean install and fab some missing parts (downpipe bracket...), but he cleaned my entire engine bay....it was pretty nasty. He's done quite a few RX8 installs and he already knew about fix 2 and the oil line restrictor. It was a bit of a trek for me (~40 miles), but definitely worth it. While my car was there, they were building up a Cosmo that had been imported in pieces.
-Used Greddy kit with low miles everything ceramic coated
-Mazsport cai
-Mazsport ic
-Greddy catch can
-HKS ssqv black edition (not recirculated)
-4 ply couplers
-T bolts
-MM AP
-Innovate wb
-Nordskog gauges in the RB tray (many thanks Jedi54)
-Profec B Spec 2
I wanted my install to be as stealth/oem/clean as possible. I plan on coating/painting the catch can and strut bar. Hopefully with some trimming, I can get all the plastic covers back on.

3.5" iirc. I think I can make it work. I just need to be conservative with my trimming.
Thanks, I'll take some more this weekend. The pipes were ceramic coated. I think the ceramic finish was called black velvet. Flat black just looked too... flat.
Now I just need to figure out if I want to add the blocking plate before dyno day.

DD: that looks like a CLEAN install those guys at JRX did, congrats man!!
haha, thanks for the shout out on the gauges. Did you do Red gauges like me or go with another color?
Can't wait to see / hear all these sweet turbo's on the 24th. Man, it must SUCK to not live in SoCal and miss out on our dyno day...

Thanks. No wot yet. I've been driving like a B until I get MM tuned, but it's difficult to stay out of boost. Boost builds so early...the car just wants to go.

I think you are good - if jet air is the one in the first pic. as it does not need a check valve if plumbed in there .
I do wonder what hapens under decel with that plumbing setup - I see some potential for extra air going through ther jet air nozzles at the wrong time . Anyone experienced any issues with that plumbing arrangement ?

I thought it might be the second pic - yellow line.

So I've been to a few auto parts stores and bought the "highest" quality check valve I could find. They all seem to be made of cheap plastic.
Can I use a pcv valve instead? Saw a few made of brass and just about the right size.
