Lightbulb Does reducing turbo inlet diameter affect performance?

Hi guys,

I'm currently running a GT35R in my Reny, this turbo has an inlet intake diameter of 4 inch that makes it difficult to move the air filter out of the engine bay.

Does reducing the diameter to 3 inch will decrease the performance?

The goal here is cold air

Thanks

The RX8 MAF is 86mm/3.375” ID and most MAF tubes for this are 3.5” OD x 16 Ga to give that ID. So that would be a better choice imo. If you have a MAP etc ecu conversion etc then it won’t matter other than it’s better to use the largest possible.
