The fix#2 is is connected to the boost controller. It has nothing to do with the AP.

BTW, your pictures are not loading. Red x's.

Fix #2 is for the wastegate to read the boost right after the compressor, on the actual turbo itself it comes out to the wastegate. I have my boost controller in between fix #2 and wastegate, where it should be. How do you have yours? Do you have Fix #2?

Pics were in wrong directory, it's fixed now.

can we mount the maf sensor at the bottom of the pipe? or will it interupt readings at all? i think it would look alot cleaner if the sensor sat underneath the pipe and with a wire loom to the harness....possibly need to exntend the wire harness a bit..

You are correct, the cable right now is pretty tight, maybe on the side, all I have to do is twist it to get it underneath but it will pull on the cable.

I forgot to mention my cable is also a touch on the tight side. I was thinking of extending it later when I had more time. My just reaches the middle of the 12" long tube. Just barely!

I also didn't put a screen at the front of the tube yet, because I'm not sure if I really need one. I suspect it may even make it better.

Wow, I didn't even noticed other people are posting pics. m4f1050, what looks wicked!!!

Do you guys plan to recirculate the BOV?

Scott welded a 19mm adapter to connect my BOV to the Mazsport GReddy CAI.

m4f, in your photo:

http://xtreme-toyz.net/cai3.jpg

The coupler before the MAF is at an odd angle to it. I bought a kick *** 45 degree coupler from an ebay seller that works amazingly in that spot. Only $19 too:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=310038832157

It's a very gradual increase in diameter, so the flow should be better than what you're using. It also allowed for the coupler behind the MAF to sit flush.

Here it is installed on my car. It might be hard to see, but the coupler really smooths out the edges and there is no rough abrupt transitions

Oh man, I must have spent hours online looking for couplers like that, both being a 3.5 to 3" reducer AND 45 degrees. That sure would have made my life easier. damn, thanks! I think I need two of them!!! That would definitely perfect this DIY!

wow, they got 3.5" to 3" 90 degree bends too, that could eliminate the need for the aluminum elbow completely from the DIY. I might try that out and post results and pics later.

I would stick to using couplers to connect pipes. They're not load bearing

I would try not to use any of them for load bearing but for the specific one that comes after the 3.5", originally, I was hoping to be able to have it do a 90 downwards, that way I could have used maybe a bigger air filter and had it slightly better positioned. The 90 metal pipes had a radius too large to accommodate such a tight bend though. In the picture, it looks like the silicone bend is a much tighter radius, but I guess I'd need to make a bracket.

yes, it's behind the intercooler. The air passing through it can get slightly heated up, but air passes so fast it's not an issue and is negligible.

Ordered 2 blue ones... 3.5" to 3.0" Silicone 45 Degree Coupler Yeah, I would stick to pipe as much as possible, only use couplers to join the pipes. If it was NA then I wouldn't worry, but FI you need something that will maintain the same pressure and not expand/extract.

I got the biggest 3" intake K&N filter they made.. It's not conical, it's cylindrical and it's like 8" long! Touches the black cover under the car, fits perfect actually.

why are you guys ordering 2 of it? You can use a standard 3.5 to 3" for the rear of the maf housing, and this 45 degree reducer on the front. Two of these is 90 degrees of angle, which you do not need.

I'll sell the other one. I have parts to build 1 more CAI. Will sell it to anybody that wants one cheap and doesn't want to waste time with it.

I'm not sure if I need two 45's, but I will try it out, because from at the firewall side of the maf tube, it's a pretty tight bend for me, and on the front side, going from the 3.5 to 3, it's another really tight one. In my case, i think the two 45's would help.

And as for pressure/vac expansion etc. I don't think there will be anything significant as this is pretty much open to the atmosphere right near the filter.

OH. Well, all I will charge is the parts price + you pay shipping. All I am missing is 2 90deg. which I can get or you can get them... I will PM you with the price if I get the 2 90deg and without the 2 90deg. (you will have all needed, even the 3.5 with hole in it and MAF plastic piece just like pictured.

It doesn't list the part number on the website, but I was wondering if you could find these U-J pieces in SS, aluminum and steel also:
