One more question - when at higher rpm & you lift off the throttle then back on it again - is the boost instant or does it take a second or so ?
Thanks

It's instant if you're above 3k rpm.
This video is a little hard to make out the boost gauge, but watch the gauge on the left -- you'll see as I shift, the pressure goes down to -20, then as I give it throttle, you'll see it instantly jump up to 5 range.

I paid ~6k, and my car has ~100 extra hp. The exact 0-60 time doesn't matter to me. I don't need a timesheet to know my car is faster. It is faster.
I said no such thing. But trying to make the RX-8 into a drag car is a losing battle. It is the wrong car to drag with.
What on earth are you talking about? I see the performance gains EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR!
No, what you're asking is for me to justify my cost to you. I don't care what you think.

mysql101, I'm not saying you specifically must justify the 6K cost. You, of course, have the personal right to not or to provide such data. Its your choice and I respect that.
The argument is that makers of kits should provide more in depth performance data on their kit. Not just this kit, but Pettit, AFSC, Hymee (get well soon), etc... Including 0-60 and 1/4 mile times on the test car, in addition to HP numbers, would be a good practice. Not doing so, is arguably deceptive, because it would appear that some of the performance numbers are being hidden. Also, on other cars and in other forums, a lot of people have no problem giving out that kind of data. Many are proud of it, so it looks odd that such numbers are not given out for the RX-8. We know its not a drag car, but many want to see how a kit improves short distance performance.
G-Techs and G-Timers are cheap. Its easy to put them on the windshield and get the 0-60 and 1/4 mile data.
Nobody is saying the RX-8 is a drag car. Providing 0-60 and 1/4 times is not about pure dragging. Its about providing a well known industry benchmark to clarify the performance of a car or a kit for a car. Example- http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html
Kits cost a lot of money. Making a verbal claim that a kit will make a car fast, without proof is dubious and makes it appear there is something to hide.
Oh yeah, that video was great.
