How about you provide some data proving the Speedsource pulleys add a significant amount of horsepower over the other brands of pulleys?
About the Speedsource pulleys and use on a street car.
About the Speedsource pulleys and use on a street car.
The eccentric shaft pulley is substantially smaller than stock, as well as much lighter. The alternator pulley however, though lighter, is much bigger than stock. For race cars, this is not an issue considering they're frequently up in high RPMs. For street cars, this can be a serious issue as that means the battery is not getting as charged as it needs to be. I've run into an issue once or twice where I started losing power steering and then ABS while sitting idle in grid, while using the lights, defrost, radio, and windshield wipers. The problem never came back when I kept my revs around 1,500 RPM while sitting idle however.

I'm not saying I haven't researched or thought bout them but for my application don't seem worth the hassle of trying to obtain, as I am not part of the mazdapseed racer program and I do want to keep my AC and I do not race the car Agency pullies seem to be proper for what I am doing all esthetics aside.

they do a lot more than eliminate the AC, both the water pump and alternator are slowed down more than anything else being sold
so you lose some weight and some parasitic drag at higher rpm
I have my idle set at 1150 rpm to maintain sufficient alternator charging with them if you go that route, never have any charging or battery issues

Nicely done fella... nice to see...
So, what exactly have you had done to the engine then to get that power at the wheels? Also, you mentioned Petits new super charger, so they have the replacement in the pipeline do they?

Its an estimation based on conversations with Cam, full build list and baseline runs. I truly dont know what the exact power to the wheels will be but that is where im guessing it will be. And yes Pettit is doing a limited production run of a new SC kit, they have a prototype in the middle of testing but nothing is commercial plained for a while unfortunately

Quick inquiry to anyone that can maybe shed some knowledge.
Hearing some controversial information regarding different sets of injectors, I'm sure the stock injectors will be fine for my application here until I go FI but since I have it all tore down figured now would be the easiest time to upgrade them.
I was researching the I.D 2000 and I.D 1000 for the upgrade which people run on our cars, but was informed that high impedance injectors won't work on our car, is this true? Any insight on this.
Or would I be better off contacting MM as I know he supplies and upgraded set as I will probably be contacting him regarding tuning as well. As it appears upgraded injector require tuning as well as I was planning this anyway
Or any suggestions to something I haven't thought about yet.
Again I know this upgrade isn't necessary for my NA build but I won't be NA for long just wanted to get this upgrade out of the way now while the block is apart
Thanks

You need high impedance injectors. You sure don't need ID2000 for anything. To big for an RX-8 setup. You could go with ID1000...but that would be a ton of fuel
I would stay stock until you turbo and then change them depending on youe build. I ran 4 ID750's with Blue OEM primaries and it worked well.

The only good reason to do it now would be to tune the new injectors NA to get them dialed in. If you aren't doing it yourself your tuner will hate you for the amount of fiddling with the injector size and latency to get them perfect NA. Small errors will really show up with injectors that big when your pw's are that small

Made some more progress last night, engine bay is back together, starting to get more parts in later this week will post some pics, ran into an issue last night though if anyone can help me out here I'd appreciate it
These clips broke when i removed the bay wiring harness from under the dash and without them the harness falls all over the place but I cant seem to find them anywhere to get new ones.

Nice build Carbon8! Lots of good work!!
One quick question(not trying to be a jerk either)but why is this N/A build in the Major Horsepower Upgrades section?? Maybe I missed it somewhere,
.
EDIT: disregard, I seen that your going to FI in the future.

Considering the extent of the build this is where I placed it as it doesn't follow conventional aftermarket bolt ons and when finished should produce substantial power increase and reliability as far as an N/A reny can at least. Now that's compared to N/A motors won't come close to an FI build but this is also my stepping stone to my FI build.
