I think the Veyron has not made production yet. The CCR koenigsegg's numbers are indeed impressive, but like I said, 16 Cyl quad turbo, 1001 HP... ouch.

This may get me laughed out of here but here goes. Has there ever been a ball bearing rotary engine? Im thinking along the lines of a two stroke engine. That would certainly be something. Dont flame me too bad, it was just one of the crazy things that flash through my head and then i get this look

Would there even be a way possible to do this withthe gears/eccentric shaft?

is it guru that has the ball bearing stationaries?

you know, with the whole zero overlap vibe, you could make a 1 rotor engine and use the other rotor as a blower. it'd just be tricky machining the new ports in the other side of the iron--where ports were never meant to go.

but i'd be down for trying that one too--it'd make one hell of a go-kart!!

So it is possible and has been done before? What kind of cost would be involved in general(not neccesarily renesis). Wouldnt it be kind of like the difference between a "regular" turbo and a ball bearing one. Theoretically speaking it should really spin a lot easier thus more power(potentially), quicker revs, etc. Wouldn't it?

I've seen lots of rotaries over 500 hp. None of them have been a Renesis yet. It isn't that hard to get them there.

The Z-06 isn't a rotary and costs twice the RX-8. Somehow I don't see that as an option. It is nice though.

first off---ems
i'll piggy back the input signals so the stock computer still thinks it's in charge, but i'll pirate the output signals so the ems will have total control. i may or may not be able to keep the fly-by-wire, so if i can't, i'll use a different throttle body and hook up linkage.

passenger motor mount bracket gets redesigned to accomodate the new manifold, gt35/40r with 1.06 hot side, obvious fuel mods, return system with external fpr, big injectors, aux ports sleeves may or may not go away...depends on if i can control them with the ems.

intake ports don't have to be crazy... exhaust ports will get thoroughly gouged out and new plates welded in to reshape the water jacket. exhaust ports will also be ceramic coated to prevent heat soak and keep the weld from cracking. new fully divided sleeve in the center housing.

pp's shouldn't be necessary by any means, but it'd be fun to block the stock exhaust ports and drill through the rotor housing--then you could have your exhaust sleeve the same diameter the whole way (like rg's sleeves)...pp exhaust is doable.

i'll bet you a dollar i can get 400 to the wheels reliably.

I don't doubt it
the renesis is SO much better than the 13b-REW

how so? i like the oil injector locations and lighter weight rotors, but the msp thing isn't building the power the way anyone expected.

i'd really like to get the rotor housings and cut the exhaust ports from scratch and use them in an older motor... i've used epoxy on big streetports before and it held up just fine, so i'm wondering if i could epoxy the coolant seal grooves and then lightly machine it flat again. i may try that on a motor one of these days.

What do you mean? Compare it to the last nonturbo rotary. It most certainly is. It's just not as easily upgraded as everyone hoped it was.

define "better"

i never said it was a bad engine, i just prefer turbo motors...it's the only way to get torque from these triangle thingies. blowers work, but there's not too many of them available for us.

gimme a 62-1 with a 1.05 on a halfie any day :D

i think everyone is just going to have to wait until the right people start putting out decent aftermarket products.. it's just too early still.

they will do it...but its going to cost a lot of money since a lot of parts will be custom made.

These guys used to run a pro rotary drag car, they are uptodate on everything...

Ok guys..................this is a project that is 90% done.

Here in Puerto Rico my mechanic is working on another RX8 and last Saturday he finally put the car on the dyno. The car makes 392HP at the wheel, that is near 479HP at the flywheel. This is a RENESIS engine running 19 psi of boost with a Garret ball bearing turbine GT35, 850cc injectors, fuel rails, Tial waste gate, ACT clutch, Walbro fuel pump, etc., etc.
The car is not finished yet.................
He needs to work on a few cosmetic things.

He has near 9 months working on this project, He needed to make the manifold and a lot of other custom made parts. The car has only 1,600 miles, the owner is another freak Puerto Rican like me that loves rotaries he buy it and send it immediately to the shop.

I know that everyone would be asking for the dyno sheet and pictures, on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning I need to pick up my car and I would take a few pictures and a copy of the dyno sheets.

We spec to hit the 300HP on my car actually makes a modest 273HP compare to the other RX8. We're installing a turbonetic evolution waste gate to try to resolve the problem with the boost.
