Bridgeported engine results
I wish there was a way of getting 250rwhp in the na form. Even Star Mazdas with their low parasitic drag drivetrain, good pcm, ceramic seals and great exhaust system cant obtain 250rwhp.
I have no clue what you're issue is with this whole tuning nonsense lately.
All that's important to me is that it runs, it makes power, has 30k miles on it, compression is good, and it's daily driven. If it was somehow not tuned like you suggest, it would run like *** and have more than likely blown up by now.

i have a friend who runs a good amount of boost on a Great set (high end top mount) up for the 8 and he is getting less hp then some people with mostly stock greddy set ups. Its all about the tune with us.

the difference is in actual performance vs optimum performance, acceleration comparisons don't rely on teh ol' butt dyno
a racer/team view is not always limited by the particular ruleset they happen to be competing under, that's a rather naive assumption
Most of the dogmas we follow (the intake manifold can't be improved etc) are based on the needs of a street driven car: broad powerband, driveability etc.
Nobody ever cared to take an engine and build it express itself in a narrower power band (6500-9000rpm? 7000-10000rpm for instance). In that case the scenario may be slightly different and one could end up seeing some gains where others don't or didn't care for in the first place. I understand that this isn't the right subforum to discuss it but that's how I see it anyway. A narrower powerband isn't necessarily a bad thing in that scenario. If you fall under the rpm-limit where the engine is actually alive you're doing it wrong (or have unsuitable gearing). I fully understand that a street driven car must sport the broadest powerband possible but that shouldn't be the baseline for any real NA build that goes beyond bolt-on products.
best non-ported 6-port Renesis makes about 270 bhp at the flywheel, ported about 10 hp more

Nope Brian Cain built Hoss-05 a bridgeported Renesis and it never ran, wouldn't even idle. Upon tear down it was obvious why. I wouldn't let Brian Cain (BDC motorsports) rebuild my lawnmower. He also never did anything to reimburse Hoss-05 for his fuckup.
Took me a while to put 2 and 2 together, but yeah now I remember all the horror stories regarding his "work". I'm honestly not surprised that Hoss' car didn't run. He's goofed up a couple of builds and tunes of my personal friends, which is sad to say the least. I'm sorry for anyone who has been screwed over, that sucks massively.
I'm very surprised to hear all this. I'm talking from experience I'm on my third engine first two were stock unopened used until I decided to do a full build for boost. I used REC for the milling on my rotors and Brian did the bridge port on my engine. My builder Dave at KDR was very happy with all the results and power running should be next month. I spoke with Brian and felt him to be helpful and straight forward. In the end results are not always what we want but that goes along with the risk and sometimes that means a motor but what is more important is how things are handled afterwards by both parties. Brian never gave me the feeling he would leave me high and dry out I would have never done business with him.
