No divider--i wonder if that pseudo divider causes turbulence in the flow-the port looks a little bigger?
Brettus has made a new center port that is larger and doesnt have a divider??

Hmm--for that smaller port to handle both rotors it would have to produce a higher velocity for the exhaust gas in order for it to flow correctly--right? To do that the pressure behind producing that velocity would have to be higher. So one side of the rotor face would have a higher "back" pressure on it than the other? IDK damn brain thinks too much.......nevermind

Glad you went with the taller seals.

Bret do you run the air pump?
Look in the tech section --i have started a new thread concerning an idea about increasing exhaust port cooling.

The narrow end of the exhaust port has a very shallow angle . We have increased that angle so carbon does not build up in that area as it does on the stock iron.

Me too . The more i think about it the more convinced I am that the issue i have with my current 50000 mile engine is that the apexs are flopping around in the grooves . I now don't think it detonated at all - just wore out . Still runs semi ok though

Never have run the air pump . My engine builder actually filled all those holes on this new engine.

/\ All I've done is modify the runner - nothing else .

In the pic of the block you can see the runner is not there . I have left it loose so that i can remove it and fit the stock one back in (or modify it further )without pulling the engine apart if it turns to **** .

Why assume the center port "has" to do anything?

The exhaust gas can exit stage left or stage right. Shortly after opening, the gas in the middle of the rotor will see a little higher pressure toward the center port than the end port. It will then move toward the end port preferentially until the pressure equalizes. Toward the middle of the exhaust process, the pressure at the entrance of the two ports will be about equal because there is nothing preventing it from being unequal. As a consequence, the velocities will be about the same. However more gas mass will be flowing out of the end port than the center.

Do the experiment. Take a container. Punch a small hole in one lower side and a larger hole in the other. Hold over a laundry tub sink. Fill container with water. The water drains out both holes. The shape of the arc it makes through the air is the same, regardless of which hole it's coming from, meaning that the velocity of the water coming out is the same too.

True, the velocity would only change if there was a single hole with two different flow rates/ back pressures. In this case having a restrictive center port causes more back pressure which causes a higher exhaust velocity out of both the center port and the end port. Open up the center port area and everything can slow down a little bit so the engine can breath better.
