Ditched W/I when i moved over to E50 .
The problem with W/I is it does cause some power loss plus it isn't as effective as e50.

Thinking about it actually. The W/I has helped me feel "safe'ish" but I really miss knowing that I could push E50 over 12.5AFR at full boost with no noticeable knock. Granted it was an error but just goes to show what it can put up with. The snow is coming here so maybe next spring...

How many Km get to a tank of fuel. I am considering E85. Problem is that they are not available at all servos

Was getting 320 odd kms on a trip .... maybe 80% cruising 20% giving it the jandal .
E85 will be worse than this.

You really have to sus out where all the pumps are and work your trips around that.

What pump you using in the fuel tank? E85 will require more fuel so probably an upgrade is required. However, i have had failure with Walbro and Aeromotive pumps so a bit apprehensive to go back to these brands

SKC, while I can't give feedback on required flow rate using E85, I can tell you that I've had a good run with my DW200 (255lph flow rate, part number 140115 drops in). Fuel pressure gauge is pegged at 60psi consistently, and the pump is very quiet. I haven't heard of any DW pump failures on rx8s, though I've heard of several of both Walbro and Aeromotive.

My Walbro has about 50,000 miles on it, 60psi solid. I have been running and E85 mix for a year or so now.

I have a DW300 in place but did have to modify the siphon to get this working without pressure spikes .

My pumps where ok for daily driving however on long trips and mountain runs they started to over heat. How many miles you getting on a tank of fuel?

I think its strange that no one has made a controller for pump. It should trivial, and you could skip the stone age series resistor, save heat in pump/fuel, and most likely get rid of pressure spikes Brettus mention. If any interest, I'd be more than happy to assist.

I'm not sure, I don't pay much attention to gas mileage but the mileage sucks for sure.

I have never had any pressure variations of more than a couple PSI.

Shove a dw300 in there and see what happens . That little bit of extra flow is enough to overwhelm the system .

From memory, I think i was seeing 75psi spikes as the second stage kicked in.

I have never needed more fuel so when this one goes, I'll just slap new aftermarket setup that copies the S2 design and see how that does.

I don't think i've heard of a turbo car running an upgraded S2 pump yet ?
