Brettus turbo 111 (the ultimate Renesis turbo ?)
#1103
This from the previous page ..... it got lost in BBC translation
add to this :
*scolloping of rotors for side ports
Mine wont be anything like his templates(bridgeport)
. More conservative if anything .
Will also be doing some other minor tweaks :
*improving back clearance on compressor housing.
*Re-shaping side exhaust ports for a sharper pulse.
*Returning to stock siamese sleeve
*Altering engine mount for clearance on intake tube.
*Undecided about if to go to solid corner seals ..... the modified RX8 seals seem to be doing the job.

Ahh I did get distracted by the alternate conversation so did you get solid corners or just the apex?
Edit: n/m, I see them in my thread

Yeah, and most everything negative I come across is regarding the Atkins recessed solid corners. So far I'm happy with mine, tho it's still early and really haven't pushed it yet. I need to do a proper comp test now that I've got over 1K miles and seemingly good vac. Ultimately several thousand high boost miles and a tear down will tell the story. For better or worse we are pioneering with these
So what's your timeline? What's the current status? And where are the pics? Dammit man, I'm jonesin here!!!

Rotating assembly went away to be balanced last week . Hopeful bridgeporting will get done this week and engine put back together soon after . x-fingers.
If i don't get it back early next week , it will be another month before I can refit the engine .... Stupid overseas holidays !!!!

I'm really excited to get this next build done and tested because I believe I now know what is wrong and what is right about what I've done so far . This next build puts all that knowledge together .
Adding the bridgeport is an unknown but I'm happy to give it a try .
Hoping to get both improved spool and better top end - while retaining street manners and mileage .

I am a new Rx-8 owner and i have a 2005 with the Shinka interior. I know very little about cars and their engines. But is this setup affordable? Is it reliable and does not wear the engine out in any way? and finally is this easy to install.

hoopes:
hope that helps but most of these type of questions can be answered in our New Members subforum.
one easy rule to always remember.
you can have Fast, Cheap, and Reliable.
but only 2 out of 3.
choose wisely.
- Affordable? - Cost is relative but some will spend more to attain this setup than they did in acquiring a used 2004 RX8
- Reliable: yes, it will reliably make your car go faster. till you push it too far and then it gets VERY expensive.
- Engine wear: not really. It (like all turbo setups) will simply blow your motor if you're not very careful and don't know what you're doing.
- Ease of install: if you're not very mechanically inclined, we don't recommend going Forced Induction (turbo, SC, etc)
