Anyone know a SoCal Turbo tuner/Installer?

I'm in the planning stage of doing FI to my 8. But I don't know jack about tunning. I was wondering if anyone in SoCal has had any luck having it professionally tuned?

Also If I purchased a COBB from "MnM" would I be getting an online tuning? or is just EMS mappings? (not sure about this!)

So far I'm thinking about going with the Esmeril Kit+Battery relocator. The items I will be prepping it with are the following.

BHR Ignition+Plugs
BHR Radiator
BHR Powder Coating(Pipes)
AEM Alcohol Injection Kit
Gauges (Not sure which yet)
TurboXS Catback
Racing beat low resonance mid pipe
Sohn oil thingy(The one the provides clean oil for the engine)
COBB Access from MnM
Greddy Oil Pan

I might be missing a few stuff. Am I missing something?

if your planning on going the cobb route..i dont know of anyone in so cal that will tune, your best bet is purchasing the ap through jeff and doing his calibration service or waiting until the next so cal dyno day (a full day full of awesome dyno tuning) it usually only comes around 1 time a year though)

SoCal does dyno days?! no wai !!!

Let us know what part of SoCal you're from because Gregs and I might have some good shops for you to get the install done at.
As for tuning, having MM tune it for you is probably your best bet.

You will need to do some custom piping on the Esmeril Kit to make it work with the Cobb AP. As it stands, it is a blowthrough setup, but to work with the cobb you will need to make it a drawthrough with the maf before the turbo with enough straight piping to make the flow laminar.

If you don't want to redo any piping, you may have to use a standalone ems.

I live in Torrance CA, ok I guess I need to do more research on the custom piping stuff. I didn't even know about that.

doesn't mean they know how to tune an 8.

they probably don't even carry an accesstuner pro for the 8 cuz there's so little demand for it.

I would ask Jeff and Charles to come by and do the install\tuning together.
That would be the best bet imho

I would not recommend doing this for the reason Ngo lists below.

As long as you're looking does anyone in my area work on 8's. Our new shop is not set up for major work on cars. I need someone to R/R the engine for me. I have a spare ready.
I want to bring it back to stock and sell it.
Sorry to leave the click but I've been driving a Jag and can't really get back into the 8 afterwards.

So my partners girlfreind likes driving the 8 but doesn't know what red lights on the dash are for. What would a red light in the shape of an oil can mean??
It stops running on the freeway, she pulls over, men come running to help, they just keep spinning it over until the bat dies. Then someone jumps it. Strange as hell it never starts. I mean it has gas and a spark?

Now it lives in the AxialFlow parking lot. She feels bad, bought it a cover.
We have a fresh engine on a stand.

I take my partners S-Type, I like it, he can drive shop truck.
He is getting hitched to girl, she likes the 8. There may be room here for everyone.
It all starts with getting fresh engine into the 8.
There may be room here to work the old engine into the deal.
There are other spare parts too. There is also an ultimite in there and a Hymee Canilizer or whatever it's called.
A hymee catback.
Do ya think she would notice if we stole the shifter?

I don't know "top gear" but has he ever driven one.
To be real honest with everyone the reason I'm tired of the 8 is the quality. The interior and the paint started bothering me when the new car smell wore off. Sometime after 6 months. It went down hill from there.
I know it an inexpensive car but they know what is wrong because they make the Shinka (or whatever it is called) with improvments. They just charge way to much extra for it.

I'm just getting old and I like the quite of the British luxo car.
It would still be nice to build a Super Seven with a Renni in it for Sundays.

For what? Nothing on the OP's list has that long of a wait associated with it.

Sure I did, the car is here, the engine is here. They are taking up square footage in So Cal (meaning it's expensive") so the answer has to be "NOW"
I have become aware that keeping anything in SoCal is a liability. I throw stuff out now that I never would have if I lived somewhere else.

That is why we can't play with cars here anymore, we can't support the sq ft.
I still have tools and lifts etc but no space. Where better would there be but in a machine shop? I can't even keep the Wilt Chamberlain car in the shop.
That thing takes up two spaces.

Speak up if you have any ideas.

I could be wrong but I think that was meant as a low blow at one of your associates.

Hey Richard did you ever finish the superchargers for the general market?

If by "general market" you mean 'non-rotary', then YES I believe Richard is using it on other cars.
I remember chatting with Richard 2 years ago at SevenStock and he mentioned putting it on some small block American cars.

you need to bring back the "have tools, will travel" user title.

How come that doesn't sound like the most economical way of doing this???
I have equipment, I have tools. I have parts yet my shop is loaded. How can I do such a thing and not cause an economic negative someplace else.
Looking at it from your point there could be no better place to work. Yet from here I have reservations about the use of assets.

I could retort with a response about the concern of "assets" but if you find it difficult to believe that BHR doesn't engage in altruism from time-to-time then you have mistakenly believed the criticisms around here.

I have a self-interest involved but it is largely personal and not related to anything with cars or people from this forum.

Where is Chatsworth located, as in the nearest city I may recognize?
