I cut the firewall to fit a custom intake manifold for my 3 rotor. The problem is that the OEM A/C evap/heater box no longer fits. Is there more compact unit I can use that's smaller? Just a shot in the dark. I don't know where else to pose this question... I tired some hotrod forums, but nothing. Thanks!

 

Why would cutting the firewall affect the AC condenser? The condenser mounts to the front of the radiator.

hehe yea, I meant the evaporator, the big plastic box with fan, ducts, heater core, and a/c evap. thanks!

 

Usually it is easier to not alter the firewall in an area that effects those components

Can you alter the unit to fit?....or are you stuck with usung something else? Often you can alter the box and use a plastic welder to reseal it if the mods aren't too bad.

Otherwise you are likely going to have to tough it out without an A/C unit or heater

 

Altering the box is an idea. There are flaps & bunch of crap in it to direct airflow, so the thought didn't even cross my mind. but it is mostly an empty container. I'll take a look when it's bright again. Thanks!

Whenever I have the car running well, I just get an overwhelming urge to take it apart to do something with it lol.
