AEM CAI w/ Greddy Turbo

I have seen a couple people on here with AEM CAI on their Greddy turbo set ups. I have searched this site up and down and cant find anything about modifying the AEM to adapt it to the Greddy system. I have found people that have done a do it yourself CAI for the turbo kit but I dont want to do that. Can anyone tell me where I need to cut it to make it work?? Like I said, I tried to search and maybe Im using the wrong key words but I found nothing. If someone could either point me in the right way, or just help me with where to cut, that would be appreciated!! Thanks.

I'm in the same boat, I need to modify my AEM intake for my turbo setup... I'm going to defer to Ray or Jeff on this one though. From what Jeff said its a minor modification, but I don't know exactly what he cut.

I asked Ray like you said and he told me he wasnt sure what to do. I dont know if he just didnt want to help me or really doesnt know. Kinda odd since you referred me directly to him. Whatever, just want to get this done! Thanks for all the help!

and i am using the ACCESSPORT as well with jeffs turbo calibrations and it works perfectly, so no worries about modifying the wrong way. i did it specifically so it would work well with the accessport

Hmm... well, he certainly would not just "not want to help"... that isn't in his nature. He's taken stupid amounts of time to help people on the forum. If he doesn't know how to modify it, he would probably need to ask Jeff, who has been MIA. If the links posted here and the people who have done it from this thread aren't enough to get the job done let me know, I'll see if I can track someone down who can help.

Ya, I know Konigs install inside and out! lol!! Im trying to go through all of them and make this as smooth as possible. I just kinda wish I could find a pic of a before/after of the intake with an arrow with where to cut. It really sucks Jeff is MIA at this time. I have emailed him, called him, texted him and everything with no response. I need to get ahold of an Accessport with a base map so I can drive the car home from the shop. We are doing the install at my buddies shop which is a good 25 mile drive and need some way of driving the car home. I have the eManage Ultimate which I could use to at least get the car home but I dont have the CD. Im lose lose!! Lol!

I know this is going to sound wierd... but don't cut anything - just start playing lego's with the piping and the best route will come to you.... Konigs looks nice but I am not a fan of the filter down that low - I made my own changes to keep the filter inside the bumper.

PS - If you want the EMU software PM me - but with the AP or EMU if your out of boost you'll be fine.

This is the best part about doing installs baby!!! Grab all the leftover **** and fabricate your heart out - LOL

but it really is as simply as it sounds, just cut off a piece and try it on, if it needs to be cut more then just cut a bit more.

Cool, good info man, thanks! Im sure once Im at that stage of the install, Ill see how the intake fits in there. Im just really nervous going into this install cause Ive never added forced induction to a car and I want everything layed out in black and white before attempting it. My car is my pride and joy and I dont want to turn it into a $35k paper weight!! Lol! Ive worked on cars most of my life so Im sure Im just overplaying the install in my head. Ill be getting back to you about the EMU disk. Does anyone know if MMs secretary can sell a Cobb with a base turbo map on it?? Or is that something Jeff needs to do? Thanks!

Samething happened to me when I got this car, so many things popped up in my head with what can go wrong with the rx8. But once I got it, I was calm and layed back about it and never overhyped and overplayed the problems of this car again. So far so good with my '8... GOOD LUCK!

Lol! Thanks, Im glad its not just me. Ive always modified my cars but I think with this one, its just so much more money than my other cars were and it has a special engine that no one seems to know much about. I think once I get started Ill be ok, but its taken me a entire year to make my first modification, which is the turbo. The car before this was a Saturn Redline, same as the Cobalt SS, and I started modding that a month after I had it. Thanks for the good luck!

you can download a "base" turbo map off Jeff's website, the link in in his AP Base Cal thread. Be aware your car will mostly likely not like the map very much out of the box.

It says I need a password. Do you know MMs secretary?? Can he/she sell me a Cobb with a base map on it or do I have to wait for Jeff? Since he doesnt want to respond to me, I want to order a Cobb through him but dont want to wait 3 months to receive it. Thanks!
