360rwhp turbo kit heres my plan

Ok ive been reading and reading and reading endless posts. I think ive got a good idea of what ill need

Ive been slowly but surely uprating everything

Brakes:
Racing brake big brake kit

Suspension:
Tein mono flex coilovers with edfc
autoexe front tower bar
Greddy rear strut bar
Autoexe sway bars
Mazdaspeed rays wheels

I plan on doing the turbo kit, transmission all at once.

At present when changing from 3rd - 4th at high revs there is a grinding noise, clutch is fully depressed. So im guessing its either the clutch isnt fully engaging (but doesnt happen in any other gear) or the sycro is starting to go??? This may be an issue i need to pay more attention too. especially when running a 360rwhp monster

Exedy clutch stage 2
Racing beat flywheel

Mazsport turbo kit 1
Mazsport ignition solution
Greddy pulley kit
Greddy oil pan (should be able to get my oil feed from here no problem)

Mazdaspeed guages with air/fuel and boost guage on a pillar

Boost control and turbo timer hidden away (havent looked at these what is everyone is using??

anything ive overlooked...??

As im in the uk cooling is never a problem. however it may be something ive overlooked when running high boost. The intercooler supplied is sufficent.

What to look at...

Oil coolers and radiatior?

It would make sense to make sure the cooling is beefed up if you're going to ramp up the power, to ensure some sense of reliability. It's been a bit warm over here lately anyway hehe. I wonder if that Mazsport kit fits the Euro RX8 with it being RHD. Are you going to use Cobb AP or Int-X for tuning?

i would say that your shifter fork is bent and that could be the cause of the grinding sound in the transmission

Using interceptor x.

ive been looking over car. Engine bay is pretty much the same. Brake fluid and washer fluid on opposite sides. Not a huge amount of difference. Manifold, downpipe etc should all be the same. If not slight mod may be needed.

When i turn car on it takes ages to warm up. Average daily temp is about 10oC

A radiator isnt very expensive havent seen aftermarket oil coolers could someone suggest some

It seems like you don't know much about the process of going FI.....If I were you I would do a lot more research then you have and I am not talking about just listing parts I am talking about understanding how your cars actually reach the threshold of power you want it to be at. Because if you think JUST using the stock interceptor X maps will take you there you were strongly mis lead. UNLESS You plan on flying Scott out to England and allowing him to personally Tune your engine.

Why is it scott needs to map it? Im actually getting a uk mapper to map it. I havent yet asked the mapper i plan to use what fuel management system he wishes to use. I know he has used a hks f-con system previously with sucessive and the greddy e-manage but says it is very restrictive.

If i knew everything i needed to know i obviously wouldnt post up asked for advice.

Don't you guys have some sort of protective cage around the PCM to prevent tampering? I thought I saw a picture of this once. If so, can you still install a piggyback ECM?

if the car is right-hand drive then the steering column to the steering rack may interfere with a front mounted turbo manifold (above the radiator). there was a .NZ guy who mad a manifold to suit RHD so it can work.

You don't get oil feed from the oil pan, you get oil return into the pan.

The RB flywheel is a rip off, it isn't that lightweight, and it cost an arm and a leg. Contact Charles R Hill about his custom flywheel that is truly lightweight.

I would consider asking CHR about his coil upgrade, which will cost less and perform better.

You DO Need to factor tuning, it is a major cost. Also the little parts that nickel and dime you, like misc bolts, nuts, clamps, hoses, etc. They add up, QUICK. I speak from experience.

Just guessing with alot of stuff here i havent seen any specifications or technical noes on the kits and the only kits been installed in the uk are greddy kits.

Tuning doesnt concern me its a factor that is going to have to be done no matter what kit i go for. Thankfully there is a business owned by a man from NZ who has worked on rotors all of his life. He knows someone in the mainland who tunes rotarys and i can fly him over for the tuning process. Will organise it so he tunes a few other cars in the same day to safe a bit.

What you have got to understand is that in the UK everything is twice as expensive. Greddy turbo kit retails over there for around the equvalent to $6500. Realistically a greddy kit (standard) standard in the uk with cost about $8000 fully fitted. Ordering it from america saves alot of money or at least i can get a better kit.

tuning is sorted. I want the turbo kit 1 if it will fit if not i know the 3rd kit will for sure.

Possible go for a different fuel manage system after talking to the tuner.

Need to look further into cooling (whats the BHR rad like?)

BHR radiator is amazing. I live in Phoenix (the desert) and it keeps my motor cool, I'm sure it will do just fine in the UK.

I'd be interested in hearing if you can put that into terms that are meaningful to those who don't own it. Would you say the cooling capacity has been increased by 15%? 25%? 100? It's hard to say since the radiator fans turn on/off within a temp range, so the coolant temps should always remain within 180-210 F ... but something more tangible is needed to describe it's functionality.

Buy CRH's Radiator, its a very cheap an effective way to ensure your boosted monster doesn't die of heat
