rx7 rotors won't work because the seals aren't compatiable. The corner seals fall into the ports.

Edit: The corner seals DON'T fall into the ports (but I believe the apex seals are offset 2mm). The main problem is that there are no seals to protect the oilseal o-rings (thanks, MazsportScott). I think I got confused with doing some porting, and then the seals could pop out.

So there isn't anything we can do so we ll be able to further the renesis limit???I am going for 400whp and then i ll probably need a rebuild after some period but then should i just install the same renesis parts or go with something else to be more reliable?

If you're goin for 400hp and don't have great tuning you're engine can failure
in a week! or days...................

with the parts available for the Renesis rigth now is so difficult to get big hp from the Renesis. In the future someone would offer heavier parts, but rigth now we need to work
with what we have.

rgonza and I moved to a 20B swap but first we broke a few times our renesis engines trying to make big hp gains, we maked 330 to 350 hp without problems but once we try to find more hp's we broke them, but here in PR with the competition 330 hp is nothing for a rotary, to be on the fight with Rx-7's or other cars you need 400 + hp's......
now we don't broke our engines but broke our transmissions so always we have a problem to fix.

If you whant to own a Rx8 with more power I can sale my car to you if you whant, just make me a great offer and is yours, I don't need the money but with a great offer I can sale it.

couple questions...

what tires are you running for your rears?

and about at what speed do they stop breaking loose from pavement? say above 50mph, 60 ir 70?

Also i want to ask for this number of hp we are talking about my front grex 6pot brake kit is good or should i need something for the rears too??But i can't find anything for rears..Is there a kit avalaible?

I know you are with stock and just drilled slotted and you are good but i want the best braking power i can have...

it's just my opinion, but i think 6port or 8port for our rx8 is a waste of money.

my friend got 6 piston brake and i couldn't feel any difference between that and my 4 piston stoptech. even when braking hard from 120+mph.


i do think 4piston was a nice upgrade over stock especially for hard braking in high speed.

there's brake kit for the rear, but if you do that, you loose your parking brake all together... so well i guess that'll be ur choice.

What is the brake kit for the rear??Can you please send me a link or tell me the brand or something??What do you mean i lose my parking brake?How will i stop the car when i want to park it??

Also i saw an extemely better brake with my grex 6pot and i wouldn't change them.They have saved me a lot of times...

stoptech makes one for the rear. i believe it's 2 piston or 1... definitely not more than 4.

i've seen people that put 4piston in the rear... i personally would be afraid of locking up the rear with the increased rear braking, but i guess it would just depend on ur driving style. i've never driven those cars, so i don't know how they're really like.

didn't know u already have the 6 piston. yea if u got it, there's no need to change it to 4piston.

u loose parking brake completely. meaning, you better pray to god ur engine brake will hold when parking on the hill or put a brick behind ur wheels when parking. yea i'm being serious. those 'sport' upgraded brakes don't come w/ parking brake port, or wire, or whatever it is that connects them to your e-brake handle.

that's the reason why i stuck with the stock rears.

rgonza use Toyo RA-1 on his 18" wheels and on the
19" wheels set he is Toyo T-1R

I use Toyo T-1S with the 19" wheels,
and BFGodrich Drag Radials with the 18" wheels
The drag radials are a lot better than the toyo's but they are not
available on 19's.

Nice but what dimensions on the front tyres and what in rears Manuel???

I ll have 235/35/19 front toyo proxes and i m getting tomorrow my rear pirrelli rosso 305/30/19....btw remember i have widen 6cm (each) the rear fenders(i could see a comment "you will rub like hell" coming!!xexe)

You can get this company to do custom brake kits. They also have a parking brake solution also.

Hey whats up guys im new to the rx8 but i love how it works im soon getting a new 07 one IM DIEING TO GET IT!. The first thing im looking to do is some engine work and make it kinda a sleeper like you guys hve done at the tracks. Ive Read from the beginning of the thread to now, and love what you guys have done! what do you think i sould do?

Grrx8mazda,

On rear when we use a --/30/-- tire vs a --/40/-- tire the difference in traction is notable,
In our cars spins a lot more the --/30/-- tire so I recommend you to use a --/40/--
tire no matter if it 265, 275, 295, 305.

1andoly,

if you're goin to buy a Rx8 to make and engine swap buy and used one......................
or buy a new one but the most economical one.

for 350 hp at the wheel, make a custom turbo kit.................................

I don't know if I'm wrong but the actual turbo kits available for sale
are below the 350 hp.

On the Blue Rx-8 that rgonza maked a custom kit that is the goal
reliable 350 hp...............................
the project rigth now is on cosmetic thinks, the owner sended
all the pipes to polish.

Bascially i want to fool a few 350's and other ricers around my area, and you know just have some fun.

Do you know if it harder to put the turbo in the rx8 than a standard engine...? IM kinda new to the rotary engine just need to be pointed in the right direction. :D

The videos that you see are very old they are when we finished my car and on those videos
the car was with 411 hp at 7 psi (dyno was posted on this thread) and the silver was with 550 hp aprox.

From that day to today both car are changed a lot, now we are using bigger turbines, ignition amplifiers, different ECU programming, etc etc the silver one now is using also nitro.

But to be HONEST with you and with ALL the respect of the world, we don't need to prove nothing to you or anyone. If you don't whant to believe our numbers it's your problem.

As I see you have only ONE POST on your records........................
On this site we try to help each member back/forward with problems and modifications
to the RX8's owners always with respect to everyone and in a friendly way.

Most ppl on this forum would not question his words considering the mans talent with regard to design, manufacturing and tuning abilities. I know this because I have read most or all of there (PR) posts.... You should try the same and maybe ask "how" he did it instead of questioning his integrity.

Dont Get Me Wrong, I Though That Those Videos Were W/656hp And Now I Do Understand The Video Better. Do You Have Any New Video That You Can Share ????? The Reason Why I'am Asking You Is Because Iam Building An Rx8 W/20b And I Want To See How Is The Car Responding To Such Amount Of Power In The Street.
Please , Would You Also Tell Me About The Moving Of The Rack. Are You Having Any Suspension Problems??????

Hehehe Come to the island, i can give you a ride in the car and show you how you can wet your pants. those vids was recorded in a digital camera that's why show the cars run more slower than the reals is. i can show how the car hit 180 MPH in less than 15 secs.i invite you to get down the island .
