And then even they were highly impressed when it was finished and wanted to use my car for couple of extra days, to show to potential customers....lol although honoured, i rejected that due to the time i already had to wait for my car....and plus I didnt want my car used as a demo either ...

Anyway from my research, I found that finding someone that is certified and coducted tests, for upholstering seats with airbags is a must ...as u don't want to be goin cheap, if ur airbag isnt goin to work if u know what i mean... and yeah ur local mazda dealer should know of some...as im sure they get a few requests like this...

Work begins on my re-trim today.
Will post pics for you ZOOMBY.
Have already struck a problem, & its how to remove the trim on the rear doors.
Search function has led me to dead ends only so far.

Looks great, however for future reference the multiquote feature on everyones post is much easier to use than making 30 replies at the same time. Just a suggestion unless your just boosting your post count :P

the rear door trim has two screws in the handle(handle pops off with force), one screw in the door handle bezel, and a clip at the top side thats not connected to the car that you have to slide the whole panel once you break it mostly free inward toward the side that is connected to the car. Hope thats not too confusing!

Two Thumbs up...
One question however? Do all aussie cars have the Ebrake on the right side of the tunnel? It seems like that is between the driver and the stick, and therefore uncomfortable, I'd think they'd pretty much mirror the interior...

As inspired by ZOOMBY, here are the pics of my personal leather trim job.
As its the first time I have done this myself. There are little area's that could have been better but its hard to spot as tested by the wife & friends who struggled to find the imperfections. However, when you do it yourself you know where they are.
Haven't done the seats. I'm no fool & wont try. The doors are what was desired & am happy with the results. So here they in both finished & work-in-progress condition.
Thanks to the hints on the rear door trim removal. I down loaded the workshop manual & found the missing clue. "Handles have covers that pop off".
I'll get some more pics up later. Am sure everyone gets the picture. Its not a pro job but its cost me under $200 & is genuine leather hide. So I'm gooing to call it a "Value for money" job

The seats are the stock leather ones but it seems the previous owner had black leather seats originally and the red seats were swapped in.
I think if you have stock red leather seats, the door panel inserts should also be red. Looks like those were not swapped together with the seats.
