I was just at Crutchfield inquiring about getting the XM Commander for my RX-8. I set up installation for next Friday.

Anyway, before I left they asked me if I had navigation in the car. I said yes, I do. Then they became all concerned that they would not be able to get the XM Commander to work because the FM Modulator may not work in a car that has a GPS navigation system - because often the stereo and nav systems are integrated in a way that prevents this. They said they've run into problems like this with a BMW X5 with nav.

Well, I don't know much about how all this works, but does anyone here know if there will be a problem hooking up XM radio using an FM modulator in an RX-8 with navigation?

The Crutchfield installers are going to look at it next Friday to find out, but I'd feel a lot better if someone here knew the answer, maybe if some of you who have a Commander have the NAV system too?

Nevermind, folks. I just checked out some of the signatures of the folks who have installed Commander and they have the Navigation system, so it doesn't look like it's a problem.
