Wicked CAS RX-8 Magic Box

I was at an exotic car show in Nashua and ran into these guys. They expressed interest in borrowing my 8 for a couple days to create a mold for their custom sub enclosure. I got the opportunity to check out the shop and some of their stuff and it's absolutely sick!!!

Check out their website: www.wickedcas.com

I'll be going back in a couple weeks and I'll post the final product!

Here's what we got so far:

Looks good, but it's already been done.
http://www.4080enclosures.com/default.asp

Now if they can make it so it uses up some of the trunk well room, or rear trunk room to give it enough airspace to be a decent ported box for an Alpine Type R 10".. then I'll take 2.

Based on this, which is a similar product for a different car, I'd say....

It will not be cheaper.

Ouch. Didn't see that. Hey Ranmcc, let them know that there is already a box for the RX8's exactly the same as theirs. They must price it below the 4080 box or nobody is buying s#it. (myself included. buying 2 very soon)

some one also built a car before so why make so many different types............cause people like options. you guys need to understand that these boxes are made to jl audio specs and have lots of r&d. Wicked C.A.S. makes about 50 different boxes for cars and has been doing this for about 6 years. the finished pics should be up within a day or 2 with some pricing and package deals

It might be possible to meet the 4080 in quality but I doubt CAS will be able to beat it.

The 4080 box has great fitment and is also designed for the typical JL sub. (net internal volume is about 0.75 cu. ft.) 4080's fiberglass is also good thickness - very sturdy but not too heavy.

Good luck to CAS. The 4080 is going to be tough to beat.

Painted? Is that in lieu of being carpeted? I assume the base price is carpeted as shown?
Can you offer a lower price for local pickup? I live in the area and I'm sure shipping on something this bulky is pricey.

We obviously wouldn't paint over carpet, so it is either paint or carpet. If you come into our shop i'm sure we can work a deal, we are kinda eating shipping to get these boxes out on the market.

Nice to finally see some competition. It definitely has a different shape than the 4080. I like!

Not unless you only get 4 people in the next few months. I haven't even decided on a driver yet, and I'm not gonna have the time to do an install for a while.
Any idea what the non-intro price is going to be?

remember in jr. high school the class that taught you about " supply and demand" well thats kind of how this works. the more i can sell the cheaper i can make it for. if no one whants one then i cant recoup the money i have in the molds so i cant even get to a great deal for every one

I'd love to buy one right now, but supply and demand is at work on me as well. I have very little supply of time and money, and quite a lot of demand for both right now. :P
The earliest I could commit to one would be Dec.

you have a clip or something similiar to mount them securely?

to avoid a flying speaker/box during 'spirited' driving...
