I got a spare credit card key off eBay. When it was delivered, they included a business card:
REMOTEZ4LESS
1-888-308-5388

Trying searching for that name on eBay.

That's probably the same place I got mine from. Finally got a hold of them and they convinced me its probably my car that's the problem since they test every remote before they send them out. I just haven't gone to my dealership to pay them the $50 to run a diagnostic. But I take back what I said earlier, they seem alright but the remotes are terribly worn.

I bought my car used and they only had 1 key. It actually isn't that expensive, I paid ~$70 for mine. It comes with a blank key. The dealer quoted me ~$100 for the programming and key cutting.

Dont forget that you can use a 2005+ key on ur 2004!! Thats what I and many others have done! That might be a better choice since its better looking and less stuff on ur keychain!

Heres the link to the tutorial

Jedi doesn't really post here much anymore. His activity is few and far between. My guess is he sold the 8.

Anyway, more details on your problem. How many remotes do you have? None of the buttons work? Or just the door lock/unlock? Do you have the valet key too? What year 8? Odds are great that it's the remote. The receiver really doesn't fail too often.

And of course you can install an aftermarket keyless system. But then you'd have to carry around a separate key and remote....and have someone all up in your car hacking stuff up.

I'd try running through the program sequence. And see if any one them respond. I think it takes a working remote to code another remote, but I'd at least see if they respond anytime during the sequence. Quick and easy. Here's another post that might be of value to you. Other than that man, I don't know. I'd check all my fuses with a multimeter....then off to the dealer. If they fix it for a 100 bucks, then consider it money well spent versus hacking into an aftermarket system.

Oh and a valet key is just a plain key that only works for the ignition. All 8's came with them from the factory.
