The big fuss is that climate control is tied into the HU. Therefore you don't just remove it. It has to be moved
Please read up before digging into yours.

the stuff I used to fill the holes is a gel form of crazy glue (called Insta-Bond), from a company called Metra. It comes with a spray that makes it hard instantly called "kick". I taped the front of the bezel and pourd it in from behind. After about a minute, I began to sand and sand.... this glue is a PAIN to saind!! I had to use the the glue because polyester doesn't stick to plastic so.... bondo and fiberglass were not an option.

Here I am teadiously soldering 160 connections so the ac will still work.
I routed all the cables under the center console, down throught the trunk to where the where the factory deck now resides.

WOW!!! that is awesome. Could we get pics of the whole system? such as trunk and all (I know you posted the radio in the trunk) but also a look at the sub and amp setup. This is truly a GREAT job you did.

Do you seriously have the radio faceplate in your trunk!!! hahahha. Man, that's great!.
But what happens if you put something in teh trunk and it rolls into the volume **** and turns off the radio?

The trunk is no longer for storage, the painted sub enclosure and amps, take up most of the space, so there is nothig to roll around, she's not a daily she's a shower = )

Did you cut off the little box behind the panel?
Also, do my eyes deceive me or are the edges of the oval holes actually beveled? Looks really good.
Thanks.

I would love to see some pics of clean & unique mods, not mass produced, purchased accessories. I think it would be kewl if there was a thread to highlight our creativity & originality. Who knows, maybe somebody's unique design might spark inspiration for others. Lets post some pics ( of our personal cars )...........
I used a 3'' hole saw and jigsaw. The mesh is ABS speaker grill I purchased from Select Products for $16.00 for a 2' x 4' sheet ( I also used it to make my grill for my MS Kit). The back compartment is still there, but i cut it some of it to fit in another grill.

Well, as far as unique, my previous setup would qualify I guess. The MP3 player's remote unit looks much better now, since the piano black surface was smoothed out. It matches the piano black accents now perfectly.
I say "previous" because I don't have that sub anymore - as pretty as it looked, it was just not deep and powerful enough, so it was replaced with an Infinity Kappa Perfect in a 4080 enclosure.
That's exactly the reason why am I interested in your passthrough box cutout solution

......here is a blown up picture of the mesh
Tamas, wuz that enclosure one whole piece, or was the box seperate from the facia? VERY NICE looks like a Vipers setup but with one big sub & nicer!

Thanks... so did you cut away the storage compartment on the back side of the panel? Also, how the heck did you achieve such nice, straight and smooth cutout lines?
The front bezel was a separate piece, made of fiberglass and attached with velcro. There is a picture of the box itself in that thread, without the bezel.
