I relocated the stock H/U to the trunk and moded a bezel from a donor radio.

 

wow. what's the info on that nav mirror? that thing looks tight!.

 

Is the cloth cover to the left of the screen permanent or are you still working on it? Otherwise looks nice, but personally I need the entire rear view.

I'm not sure to which cloth You are refuring to but the mirror is an audiovox. the screen is a 5'' lcd. If you turn the monitor off it goes back to a normal mirror.

 

I see it now. It's a reflection of your jeans. First pic. It looks to me like you filled the gap in the cosole with a cloth. lol.

I'm not too fond of the MS logo, unless of course you've got a full MS kit on your car already, then I could see why you'd want it. Either way, if you do have the MS kit, I'd relocat the logo to the back of the car. (like kwescott has)

I understand the MS logo because without the factory radio there it looks pretty "plain". The logo is just to break it up a little, right? Perhaps just a standard Mazda badge? Either way it's killer. Congrats!

Yeah, the controls will work both the factory and Alpine radio with a flip of a switch. The factory 6-disc can play through the Alpine as an Aux. input.

Thanx for the complements all. It makes me feel good that you guys approve. I thought that the MS kit is a nice touch (IM0) It didn't quite look right without it. I have a Mazda embelm and test fitted it, it didn't look that great to me.....

 

think it looks great, im looking to do the same thing to my car, but dont currently have the time to attempt. but nice set up!!!

Any stand alone Nav unit that has a A/V output and I/R control will work with it, like the Jensen NAV100 or NAV101.

Hate to be the one, but what was the price range on the flip out screen install in the dash? Atleast a ruff estimate.

Umm... The donor radio i got from e-bay for like $40.00( it was from a wrckt 8), the paint cost $150 from the bodyshop. The actuall making of the kit was a chore.
I have pics and will post them if you guys are interested in seeing it made step by step. You will never believe what I used to fill the holes in with............
