Viper 5701 issue

Hey everyone,
Last week I had my viper 5701 alarm installed by a viper dealer who did a great job with the install. There is just one problem. Every so often my alarm goes off for no reason. I check to see the cause and it says trunk opened. I check the truck latch, wires and fuses and everything seems to be good. I have the lifetime warranty through viper but don't want to go through the hassle of dropping off my car for a few days to see what the problem is. Has anyone else had this or similar issue with their viper 5701?

You need to see where your " (-) trunk pin trigger" wire is hooked up to. I believe its a solid blue wire coming out of your alarm. Check to see where its hooked up too. Could be a loose connection.

Also do you have any add on sensors installed such as glass breakage or radar or something?

Make sure your not leaving the trunk light in the "on" position too.

Hmmm tough to say. Maybe a little transient voltage. Usually folks solder a diode inline and it cures the problem. In fact, a lot of alarm systems even include a couple diodes with extended wires already soldered on them for ease of installation. Usually white wires with black heatshrink.
