Wow, this got to be the best way to play mp3 without ever wiring anything. I got a USB 512mb laying around. I think I'm going to buy it for the heck of it. 23.00 bucks, how can I go wrong? :D

I bet it reads .mp3 files from the USB key (probably have to store files in a certain directory) and then uses an FM modulator to transmit. Pretty simple device...but the price is damn good. I would expect something like that to cost at least $50. The iPod shuffle is a USB drive...I wonder if it works with that?

Stuck in a love triangle
Damn. Now I feel stupid for ever buying that MP3 player. Oh well...who knew?
With this device I could have extra storage space instead of having my CD cases sitting in the center console. And I wouldn't have to worry about MP3 CDs getting scratched or the MP3 player not being able to read certain MP3s the way it does.

This is nice. I rarely use my stereo coz I like hearing my car while I'm driving. But for th price, this would be nice for the long drives on weekends.

I own one of these. Mine transmits very well with no (or rarely any) interference/fuzziness. The sound is OK. You do seem to lose some of the stereo sound - tends to sound kind of mono. Some of it depends on the quality of your MP3's. One thing I don't like about it is that you always start from the beginning. So if you listened to 40 songs during your last drive and you want to start at 41 the next time, you need to press "Next" 40 times.
