Trying to get sub/amp combo in the 8
Okay, I've been looking around for a while and I'm really looking to add a sub/amp combo to the 8 right now. I was thinking about going with 4 8's sealed, then 2 10's sealed and now I'm just wondering if I should go with one 12 and port it. The question is, will a 12 fit in the 8?
I've heard some systems in the 8's and for some reason, the bass doesn't really satisfy me, I don't know if it's because their doors and trunks were open or because the bass couldn't get into the cabin, but I don't know. What do you guys suggest?

Get 4080's box if you want trunk space AND don't play golf. If I didnt need to put clubs in, I would do that with a JL 10w6v2 10" woofer. The sub hits hard and requires a small amount of space for a box. Any decent 12" will require a custom box thats going to take up more space than most people want to give up. I have a 12" from my last car stereo that I want to put in my 8, but I just cant justify losing the trunk space for an appropriate sized box. The JL sub I mentioned is suppose to be damn good.

A 12in sub fits but barely when I had 1-12inch Eclipse Titanium in there with sealed enclosure with only around 500watts rms going to it & it's definately enough bass with just 1 of them. The bass rattles alot before I had a crap load of dynamat extreme applied to the whole trunk & rear license plate.

I have 2 dvc 10s in mine and it hammers, 8s would be ok it just depends on what you're going for and what you listen to. The trunk being lightweight makes for a disturbing rattle so we're going to be fixing that up before too long, the 2 10's seem to fit the car perfect though soundwise so I'd highly recommend going that route. (I dvc 12 might work too, but I like the response from the 10s a little better)
