subwoofer between the rear seats..

I've seen a few threads about people doing this with 8" subs but in my old car before i got the rx8 was a 2003 hyundai tiburon. i put in a 12" kicker solo x with an optimum red top battery and kicker zx2500.1 amplifier. loved the system but it was so heavy n weighed the car down and made it slower even with the supercharger, that i don't wanna doit to the 8. so my ? is can i put a 10" subwoofer between the seats so all the weight with the sub, amp and battery is somewhat evened out. i was either going with a fi btl 10 or a digital design 9500h series. so i can still use my amp. if someone has done it with a 12" please post pictures.

Also instead of making another post haven't searched around yet but just found on amazon. a metra dash kit to get rid of the factory radio? if so does anyone have pix of it installed in their car and if they have a single din or double din? also if they installed the metra axxess aswc universal steering wheel control interface..

thanks for the help
Eric

Jesus christ man. New or not, you have to have seen the huge FAQ thread right at the top of this forum. And at least take a tape measure between the seats before asking ridiculous questions.

^^ ...and it's not worth messing with it. You'll get better results with a trunk-mounted setup. Plus it will not be visible from the outside, inviting thieves to break into the car.
Get a zEnclosures box and a 10" or 12" sub, that puts the woofer close to where the passthrough-mounted sub would be.

I believe this thread is about fitting subwoofers in the passthrough panel BETWEEN the rear seats. But let me check again....

...yep. It is.

I guess I was referring to the other blokes question about puting subs in between the seats I thought he was talking about between the front seats and the back

You know what makes car stereos sound horrible? Putting the biggest subwoofer you can into a bad area.
Bigger does not = better under any circumstance when it comes to audio.

If you want it to sound good, do some research and be ready to pony up the money

If you just want to listen to super loud bass, buy the cheapest premade enclosure (that already has a pos amp and woofer installed) that will fit in your trunk and have at it.
