Stock CD-Changer not working

Stock CD-Changer not working
Hello, everyone. I'm brand new here (and with my RX-8, just got it yesterday) and Im glad I found such a sweet useful place so fast. Anyways, I have a question, maybe someone's run into this before:
I have the Aero package, with the cosmetics and Bose sound system. This sound system also comes with the 6 CD in dash changer. However, the changer doesn't work. I can put one CD in and play it fine, but the "Load" button doesn't work, nor does the "Disp" button, by "Amb" on the upper right. The "Text" button, or something like that, one that can be turned and is in the lower-left, doesnt seem to do anything wither. Can anyone tell me what's wrong? Did I get a faulty system? Also, what might you suggest I first do to upgrade this bad boy? Something that increases the horseper, i would hope. The acceleration leaves a bit to be desired. Of course, that's compared to my dad's 04 Corvette, so I dont know if im just used to the best. It certainly is better than my old bigass Dodge Durango...

the 6 disc changer is a dealer installed option not a stock component of any package. unless you know they put it in there and its listed on your options of the window sticker -you dont have a changer. that would be why the load button doesnt work. either way take it to the dealer.

My cd changer doesn't work, either. Though I'm not quite sure a changer is actually installed in the car. I'm a second owner, who bought the car at auction. I did not find a window sticker in the vehicle, and the Warranty Vehicle Inquiry Detail sheet printed by my local dealer does not include a 6 disc changer as an installed accessory. But I did find a For Sale sign tucked in the passenger seatback that the former owner must have used to advertise the car, and it mentions a 6 disc changer. Still, the cd player functions very much like a single player would.
Is there a way to tell definitively which player is installed in my car? Are the two players different sizes, or the same size but with different model #s? And if it is the 6 cd changer, what would prevent it from performing its changing function, yet work properly in the single mode?

6-CD changer only comes as a dealer installed option. You should have a piano black trim bezel that shows a CD changer symbol on it. If not, your car may not have a changer in it.

Stuck in a love triangle
Also, the 6 CD Changer displays CD TEXT information like track/artist titles. Put in a brand new CD ..or one you made yourself using CD TEXT for each track.. and then press the TEXT **** (which is right above the temperature control dial). If you still only see numbers after doing this, then you have the regular single CD player.
It's alright if you have single CD player cause the MP3 player is better than the 6 Disc Changer anyway. You'd probably want to get the MP3 player instead unless your idea of burning CDs is lighting them on fire.

Well, according to the owner's manual, the only system that will display song text is the minidisc option. I have also tried to display text with my in-dash changer, and it does not. I have verified with multiple cd's that the cd text is there and readable on other cd players, and the RX-8 changer system does not read this data.
The audio quality is great with the stock system, but little things like this is quite a letdown when they add up so quickly.
