Alright I checked the manual and it says to load more than one disc you hold down load until it beeps then hit the disc number you want to load. The problem is that mine isn't beeping when I hold load. Did some 8's come with a single disc player?

 

on the LEFT side, DIRECTLY beneath the slot where you put you CD in.... it will either say MP3/CD/6 Disc or somthing of that nature... if you have a 6 disc, it will tell you. if you have a CD(single) it tells you etc etc... its right there in front of you when you're trying to put the disc in... how can you miss it

dont worrry, you're not the only one to ask this... i cant believe how many times this gets asked....

 

If it is not a 6 disc charger, those 2 button "DISC V" and " DISC ^" shouldnt be there at all to confuse user.

 

It took me a bit to figure that one out too. The disc up and down are there because the main head unit is the same. on all the models. The cd player can be swapped out with a 6 disc and it will be ready to go.

the disk up and down buttons are also used if you put in the MP3 player - you use those buttons to change "folders" and then the track up and down to change the file inside of that foler

 

If your looking to upgrade to a 6 disc, you might want to note that the CD changer is the same for the Mazda 3 and 6 also. I just picked up a whole Mazda 3 HU w/ 6 disc changer from e-bay for $62 shipped. Did the swap and everything works great. Now I'll be putting a Mazda 3 HU w/ a single disc back up and making some of the $ back.
