Steering wheel controls for Pioneer Z3 Headunit?

Hey guys... I've had my Pioneer Z2 (now a Z3) headunit for about a year.. and I am really starting to wonder exactly how hard it would be to make the stock steering wheel controls work with it.. is there a remote wire in the main harness (no-bose) that I can connect to the wire remote input on my headunit (which it does have) and if so, would it work?

ideas?

Going to need the PAC SWI-PS unit (I think that is the one for Pioneer radios). As far as the remote line, I believe that there are 2 lines. Pin 9 on the harness goes to the remote input on the SWI-PS, then to the HU. Pin 10 should be connected to ground.

You're right about the wire being in the main harness BUT the headunit will not be able to distinguish the signal on the wire. You'll need an intermediate "box" from pac audio. I'm using the SWI-PS with my Pioneer. It connects to the wire in the main harness and plugs into the remote jack on the headunit.

Oh and to add, it is pins N and P. Check out the Install sticky for the pin-out of where they are in the harness.

Out of curiosity, is there always extra delay in the HU response to using steering wheel controls in this setup? I've been reading that this can have up to a 1 sec delay on a Pioneer deck... is this true for all aftermarket decks when you re-enable the steering wheel controls?
