SR roll bar

I was jsut browsing today and i ran into the SR roll bar it says TBA on price and pics ... But i was wondering if anyone knows when about it is coming out and ... any pics or if any other company makes it thanks

I found the same link 2/2005 no updates since then. The only “ bolt in “ bar I have found is made by a company called Auto Power. http://www.upgrademotoring.com/safet...utopwr_app.htm the one I am interested in is the Street Sport with goes for $420.

Actually I believe mazdaspeed makes a weld in one.

There are 2 different cages, a 4 point bolt in and a 6 point bolt in cage, both made by AutoPower.

Before you buy anything wait till the Search function is fixed and do a lookup on other members dealings with Vivid Racing, that’s all I will say.

FYI, there is an Auto Power distributor listed in Garfield, NJ http://www.stable-energies.com/home.asp

It's the side curtain bags that would get in the way.

I found an older post LINK about the SSR roll bar dated 10/2004, 8 months and no progress

you would have to actually remove any airbags, they just wouldn't function in a wreck correct?

I think you can just find the fuse and pull the plug? In the photo above of the Mazda roll-bar you can see the area of the side bags right behind the bar. The bags don’t know the bar is there. Should they deploy in a roll-bar equipped car something will have to give and there is quite a bit of power behind a deploying air bag. All info indicates the Mazda bar is not designed for street use.

I just came across the Vivid Racing links to the AutoPower cages. Has anyone tried to bolt one of these in yet?

Any comments on where exactly it attaches, how many holes you need to drill through what, how hard it is to get in and out (the driver and the bar), and how functional the rest of the car is with it in (e.g., do you lose the back seats?).

Would not be that much different than the install shown here

It bolts to the car in four places, to the floor and to the wheel wells (inside) will need to remove the tires and part of the interior.
