Exclamation Sound System Set up help!!!!

plz help on the suggestions , car:

2005 Mazda RX-8,

I want

1.Play louder without distorting

2.CDs + IPOD+ I dont want to lose my sterring wheel features

3. removable faceplate/ or someway to hide from thefts

4. maybe some vibration damping? dont want my car to fall apart

5. I listen to majority hip hop/hardcore ganster rap

6. I want hardcore bass and my heart to fall out, without distortion of course

Budget $1500

I was thinking....

deadener: secondskin damplifier lite (60 sq ft)
http://www.secondskinaudio.com/produ...p?category=120
$175 estd.

cd player: Eclipse CD5100
ECLIPSE AUDIO CD5100 CAR CD MP3 5100 NAVIGATION STEREO - eBay (item 180461237842 end time Feb-24-10 10:40:46 PST)
$179

components: Image Dynamics CTX65CS
CTX65CS - Image Dynamics 6.5" Component Speaker System
$180

2 channel amp: Cerwin Vega EXL-350.2
CERWIN VEGA EXL-350.2 2 CH AMPLIFIER NEW FREE USA S-H - eBay (item 300284297552 end time Feb-25-10 21:15:18 PST)
$123.50

subwoofer: DC Audio Level 4 15 (dual 2 ohm)
Phone: (775)-425-5700
DC Audio - Home
(contact owner for price)

mono amp: Cerwin Vega EXL-1200d
Cerwin-Vega EXL-1200D EXL Series Class D 1200W MONO Amplifier
$365

That leaves a little more than $150 for wiring & install...

someone from other audio forum also suggested

"Dash kit - Metra 99-7510 is about the $170.00 mark alone... there goes 17% of your original budget before taxes even

I would find a solid headunit like the Eclipse CD5030 or Kenwood KDCX693 or KDCX493. $300 or under.

Speakers, keep it to a simple coax in the back, $100 should do the trick. Up front you can do a 6.75" component in either Bose or non Bose systems, or a 5x7" non Bose or up to a 9" Bose. In the Bose case or the non Bose case you will need to have adaptor plates to mount the speakers if you want to use components. $300 on front speakers, eliminate the rears if you have to for now as you can add them later.

Subs, a pair of 10" or a single 12" in a slot port box. With the limited trunk room in this car you would be ideally suited to a single sub in the slot port box. You will have to remove the plastic covering from behind the rear seats to allow more output to get into the cabin.

Amps, the Eclipse XA2000 that someone mentioned is a great amp for the front speakers, copious amounts of solid clean power and they can be found cheap right now. A pair of them even if you want to use the second one on a svc 4 ohm sub would do alright. You can always expand again and use it to power the rear speakers if one day you want to add a second sub and bigger amp."

my man stock deck is fine i ran stock deck for a while , now i got a clarion double din touch deck which looks insane in the 8

i had a couple set ups
i had 2 crunch subs old school in that custom rx8 box u find on the net sounded pretty nice , was ok , moved up to 2 dual 10 powerbass XXX was alright

best setup ive had is 1 rockford fosgate p3 12" in a custom box , because of the space for the car its hard to fit a premade box in there but you can make it yourself pretty fun actually ,

i got an mrp m1000 alpine amp pushing that sup it drops my mirrror my trunk looks like its gonna fly open the water in my washing fluid shakes

best system ive found for that car but again personal preference right

i also got nice 6.5" herts component speakers high high quality runnning off the bose amp and sitll sounds amazing ,

ive spent so much in car audio since i got the 8 but now im the set up i got

250- for the sub rockford fosgate p3 with a 2 year warranty
350 - for the mrp m1000 alpine amp
and now i got the clarion deck for 350 but that was just to watch movies

hertz speakers about 500 for the pair from hertz themselves and they are amazing ,

just my 2 cents

Get it!

It looks like you have a nice system. Go with the Kenwood deck though.

Plainly put, $1500 is not gonna cut it. Not unless you'e doing all the labor yourself. Even then, it's tight.

You're gonna need the dash kit if you're replacing the factory headunit. And if you're not doing the install yourself, expect ~$300 in labor easy for headunit, 4 speakers, sub, and two amps. Add in another $75 minimum for wiring/RCAs. That's nearly $500 in parts and labor. Still no equipment and no sub box.

rote8, how do u like ur Type R's inside ur cab,

i like mine alot, im just seeing if you agree or disagree.

in the Rx8 i would have to go with a sealed box because if you go with a ported box, you will need a bigger box, and our trunk just does not have the capacity for that big of a box =]

I never saw an Alpine speaker that didn't ROCK!
I choose mine for the fairly high sensitivity rating per watt.

The Type-S component set is a little stupid. They have these retarded little "built in-line" crossovers instead of separate standalone ones.

I have 2 completion 12 inch subs with a 3000 watt RMS amp. with the stock head unit. There is no distortion. The only problem is it makes the cd skip when cranked up. I will have that fixed this weekend when I install a usb drive. I want a new head unit but its costly.
