I've never heard of a cd hack.. I've been on here quite a while and a search didn't help.. Maybe you can enlighten me?

But I can vouch for the auxmod - I used it for 6 months with my last Sirius.. The quality is as good as the source.

you make a cd with no noise in the mp3 file... then you hardwire in an input for your MP3 player.. It's a complicated way of doing the hardwire or just buying the mazda, axxess, or audiolink device.

Wow thats a bit ridiculous... I can't see how it could possibly be any better than the auxmod - becuase the auxmod is a direct input into the HU like the hack would be - except it's into the "tape" input instead of wherever you would have to input for the CD hack.

not to mention the added convenience of just plugging in the mod and then pressing "tape" - instead of making a cd and soldering and whatever to get your inputs for the cd hack

You burn a CD that has a huge MP3 file that has no noise in it. Then you wire into the radio along the same circuit the CD player output uses. You push play on the CD so it starts up and then play your MP3 over the "blank" noise coming from the CD.

This was the first way found to hook a player into the RX8, but it's now pretty obsolete.

I'm on this forum for about 3 weeks and have been searching for a cheap and effective way to get only aux in and I've found some thread about that and even a great DIY...

Does someone know the sound quality of the Cd hack?

Thanks
