Nexus OBDII Gauges

Lookin into purchasing some gauges and am going to go Nexus. My question is, is if the OBDII version of them work as they say. Would the OBDII wideband really read correctly for tuning, would the Oil temp be correct and so forth. Just curious as in it seems kind of odd that you can get away without installing a different O2 sensor for the wideband or any other sensors for the other gauges. I appreciate the input guys.

I heard the upstream IS a wideband, but not a conventional one - it outputs a varying CURRENT not a voltage.

This may be wildly innacurate, but it's what I heard, that it can't be used with any gauge.

not saying it will or will not work ... but since its runnin off the OBII port it is gettin the signal from the PCM ... so does the PCM get any kind of A/F ratio from the "wideband" O2 that could be relayed to the gauge.

I wonder if its CAN capatable or just for older OBDII systems... for some reason I don't see any mention on autometers website regarding the CAN version of these gauges -confused-

well i emaild nexus about their OBDII gauges and i finally got this reply:

Steven,

Thank you for your email and interest in Auto Meter Products. Unfortunately we
have decided to not to release the Nexus OBDII instruments. One of the reasons
is the one you stated. We can not ensure the accuracy when using the stock
senders and sensors.

With that said, we do offer the standard Nexus instruments that will come
included with the proper sending units and sensors.

If you have any other questions feel free to contact us.

Thanks again,
