Question Sound Overhaul - Sport Package (mp3)

Just picked up my RX last night. I chose the Sports package because I felt the upgraded sound system would be a waste considering my ear. I am thinking the following:

- Replace cd with oem mp3 player (keep dash appearence intact)
- Drop a mid-high quality 4+1 amp in what's called a trunk
- I would like to recycle a powered bazooka 8" HP series sub
- new wire and speakers all around

Can anybody provide insight into headunit output, impedence, speaker specs? Seems like this could be a sticky topic, my apologies if it is already and I missed it.

P.s. special thanks to those posting picx/tips on the mp3 install. Is it a seperate component from the receiver?

Thanks...

The entire unit is modular. Think of it as a PC chassis with one 5.25" (upper) bay and one 3.5" (lower) bay. It comes from the factory with a single-CD drive in the upper bay, and the lower bay vacant. The MP3 or 6-disk drive replaces the single-disk drive in the upper bay, and the tape or MD player slots into the lower bay. Regardless of whether the bays are populated, the entire head unit takes up the same amount of space behind the dash.
