Sat Radio - are you sirius?

I love SAT radio, dont get me wrong.....but for this awesome sound system that comes with the shinka, Ive got one complaint........why doesnt the name of the artist and song scroll when you hit the DISP so that you can read the entire title....Ive got a mediocre Pioneer head unit in my SUV with XM that scrolls everything you need....now, if I'm doing something wrong....somebody please tell me!!!!!

You would think that it would automatically scroll at least once, but it doesn't. You gotta reach down to the "Text" **** on the lower right of the head unit, and give it a twist.

Hey shinka, I had an Alpine cda-9835, which is a pretty high end unit with the alpine sirius tuner, and it would only display up to so many characters for track title and artist name. loved the service, but the unit was only programmed to display so much. each design is different. i feel your pain though. i would hear a new song on the radio and look to see what it was,and if it was too long, i wouldnt know the full name or even the full artist name. oh well, sometimes life sucks

OK, this is off topic in this thread - but "awesome" sound system in the Shinka? Unless it comes something better than the usual Bose system, it is hardly awesome. Or does the Shinka have a different stereo option?

well, I suppose everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I never paid $30,000 for a vehicle that had a 9sp 300watt Bose as standard equipment.....I guess I'm showing my gratitude.....go figure!!!

Do some search on this board, you'll see what I mean.
If you're happy with the sound of the Bose, good for you.

Hey Shinka, I'm with you. I'm perfectly satiisfied with my Bose Sirius system. It sure beats any stock system I've ever had in any other car. It may not be an Alpine, but hey, I'm not really into high db's and wattages... or rattling nearby car windows. The likes of Steely Dan or Peter Gabrial or Sting sound just fine on my Bose... or when I'm in the mood even Cryistal Method, Radiohead...maybe even some Aphex Twin...still sounds great on my Bose, at least to my old ears.
