Where's the thermometer on the 8? Is that the temp under the car? in the dash, it annoys me, the book doesnt say it. :-)

 

it is mounted behind the grill in the center front of the car...look closely it is black plastic looking piece with a cable coming off of it

 

so is it the temp of the of the outside air? in the shade?

 

The probe is just inside the grille, on the drivers side, looks like a black bullet.

It reads the temp of the air coming in the front, so it gets a little confused when standing still. Even on the highway, it is reading almost at the level of the 'blacktop', so it can read a little high.

If it annoys you, turn it off, the button marked 'Amb' for ambient.
