Hi, I am still new to this forum and the rx8 as well, so forgive any noob mistakes I might make.
I recently bought the footwell led lighting from rx8strakes, and the instructions they have basically tells you to tap the wires into the dome lighting. However if I want to tap them into the parking lights, which wires should I splice them into? On the same note, is there a widely available diagram of the wirings of the car? I dont want to trial and error & do some irreparable damage.

I saw couple of threads on footwell lighting as well as rx8strake lighting but have not seen any specifically on splicing into parking lights. If there is already such a thread, please kindly direct me to it.

if anyone else was interested... cant believe i missed it first time around...

 

You can tap into the wires running to the glove box light or the ash tray light. The glove box tap will always be on, full brightness. the ash tray light will dim with the rest of the interior lights. I have mine tapped into the glove box, but I'm thinking about switching.

 

which wires are those? or are they easy to track from the source? better yet, any clue where to get a wiring diagram of the car?

maybe i am wrong, but i thought the ash tray light stays on the whole time when the inner lights are on?

 

Yeah, you can easily find the wires just by following them from the bulb. The ash tray light does stay on, but if you dim the interior lights with the little ****, the ash tray will dim too. The glove box will always stay full brightness.
