no.
Let's see...

"OK guys i got the Mbus to PC adaptor on Friday. It works. You plug it in to the Mbus and then to the PC (USB+MIDI Ports)."
Where do you think the MBUS comes from? The PIE adapter that you plug into the Mazda factory HU.
Ever try searching? Between this site, mp3car.com and PIE's website there is more than enough information to handle this on your own.

are you still using the stock HU? if not there is nothing more to talk about. This "mod" only works in onjunction wih the stock HU.
right now in the event of a situation where the stock HU replaced by a car computer setup, there is no way to make the stock steering wheel contols work with the carpc... at least not without creating a custom circut board. A HU... factory or aftermarket is required.

Call me stupid, but how did one hook up the carpc's power to the car to begin with? Was it an inverter from the 12V or you did something special? I am thinking about doing this with an old laptop...

You can do it with an inverter but that's not a too efficient way since first you upconvert the car's 12V to 115 and then down again to whatever the laptop needs. Better way is to use a power supply that is available for such purpose and avoids the conversion to 115V. mp3car.com and other places explain this quite well.
Although I'm not sure what voltage the laptop needs - these car PC power supplies are typically for plugging directly into the motherboard.

Yea, as tamas said....depending on the laptop you may not be able to avoid an inverter. If the powersupply for the laptop is under 15 volts you should be okay. Since the car runs 12-13 volts and most laptops car run a few volts below what the power supply is rated at.
If you look at the battery in the laptop it will have the min voltage at which it will run. Usally a few volts lower than the power supply, but not always. My power adapter for my Sony is rated at 19 volts and it's a 14.4 volt battery.--- it will not work in the car without and inverter--- My old IBM was rated at 16 volts at the power supply and 10.8 volts at the battery --- worked fine in the car---

that is amazing work. I was thinking of setting something up like this, just for my dvd player...
did you switch out the entire dash board for the new one? or did you have to do some custom mods to the dash to make the navi kit to fit?

I see that you are using the same touch screen I plan on purchasing, does everything fit nicely with the stock nav trap/popup? I am in the same boat, and will have to purchase the tray. Do you have any better lit pictures showing the housing, and the screen itself sitting there?
Very very nice work btw.
