Replacing rear Mids

Edit: Forgot to say, my car is a 2006

My mom got me a pair of German Engineered speakers (no idea what the name is, will update later.... maybe), and they are 6x9, which I don't think will fit in the doors, so I was going to put them in the back.

I was taking a peak at: This post about getting to the rear speakers

And I was wondering if all that works is necessary to get to those speakers. How long does it take to replace those rear speakers? Is there a faster way?

I am at school today til about 7, should get home around 745ish, and I kinda wanted to do them tonight, (which I just realized I can't because the speakers are at my mom's house), but I was hoping I could get it done in one night.

Granted, I woulnd't mind leaving the seats out for a day or two that I have to drive to school, but would prefer not to.

I also plan on putting in subwoofers later. I have 2 12" subwoofers sitting in my mom's garage (again, no idea on what brand, no emblem on the front of the subs and they are in a box which won't fit in my car, so I gotta pull them out and get a new box). I am looking for a good recommendation as far as enclosures and also a recommendation for amps.

I was looking a while ago and saw a Zenclosure (I believe) that had a acrylic window thing that went over the weird gap area in the 8's trunk, so that you could see the amp. Thought that was cool.

As far as amps, I am looking for a good amp at a bargain price, maybe a used one or something like that. No preference on brand, but would prefer a name brand and not some crappy brand that advertises the peak power instead of RMS.

Ok, I just typed a lot.
Thanks in advance for the recommendations

-Mike

its a pretty easy procedure , man i got hertz 6X9 in the back sound like im at a concert all the time lol ,

but for the subs man dont mess around with the amp dont get a cheap one the amp is an important componant for subs , but for the box if your just starting i go with that custom rx8 box that they have on the net , i had it for a while with old school crunch subs it sounds nice but its a pretty cheap box but it does fit nice and snug in the trunk best thing to do , would be to buld the box in your trunk,,

i have right not a rockford fosgate p3 with a custom box i made it myself in the trunk its a pain but it sounds insane and you get to take pride of your work , its worht the time and hassel , concidering you will never fit a box in there concidering the 13" gap for the trunk opening minus the plastic piece ,

if your gonna do something man do it right the first time

i spent i think over 3-4 gs half assing it and now i got a nice set up im to lazy to post pics but i can give you some tips if you need some man

lol sry for the big post

This thread should be in the proper section, not in DIY.

So I was looking at my speakers last night, and the brand is MB Quart, not sure of the model number, but I think it is FTA 169. On MB. They look sweet, but my question is, will a 3-way coaxial speaker work in the back?

My speakers don't have tweeters with them or anything (or I haven't found them in the box yet), so I guess I don't have to replace the tweeters in the back, but that 3-way coaxial is giving me concern.

Maybe the tweeter is built into the speakers?

Btw, I looked up the speakers on their website and it says 2-way coaxial, but my box says 3-way.

Also 1 more question. Do I need any speaker wire or anything, or is there enough already in the car?

Well I just replaced my rear speakers with the MB Quart FTA 169 3-way. Haven't really taken a chance to listen to them cause I wanted to just put everything back together since its been dark for a few hours.

Also I had to take the connector off the old speakers and solder them on to my new ones, and the first time I did it, I accidentally soldered it on backwards and had to redo it ... lol.

Other than that, it was pretty easy. I like to do things myself. My mom bought me the speakers and they included free installation, but where is the fun in that? I don't want anyone taking apart my baby's insides.

All in all, good and fairly easy experience.
