remote wire

what up everyone.....i am installing an amp in my 04 rx-8......is there a way around running a remote wire from the factory head unit....every one i have installed ran from an aftermarket head unit....never encountered this and i want to keep the unit stock......thanks in advance

There sure is a remote line! it's on the connector to the Bose amp in the trunk. The audio install guide sticky has all the info you need, so get researching!

If you don't have bose.. then you could get it from the accessory power plug.

I have bose and I get it from an accessory plug

i do have the bose system....where do i find the audio install guide.....

the yellow/white and pink/black wires are hot only when the key is in the acc mode (Bose amps inputs)

I tried it that way and got a thump when i turned off the car.

I used to get that with my old Kenwood amp, for whatever reason my JL amp doesnt do it anymore, problem solved!!

the thump your getting is called a turn off pop, it's caused by two units powering off at different times. The only way to remedy this without compatible units is to "SHORT" the inputs of the amp when the amp turns off. or you can wire one up yourself with a 4 pole double throw relay wired into your remote line and some RCA ends wired into the amp RCA inputs. The object would be to connect the inputs together so no external signal is introduced.
