Remote Turn on Lead....

First off, I want to thank all who have posted here in the past. My install is going so soothly because of the large volume of info that is posted here daily for that matter. I have all ready run my power line to a junction box i mounted on the fire wall and from there a single power line out through the firwall at the bushing on the drivers side and down the kick panel through to the truck where I have a second junction box splitting the single run to two and to my amps. I also installed my front BA speakers and compentes, and have removed my rear 6x9's and replaced those as well with BA's. I have a two amp layout and are using a 4ch line convertere for both front and rear controll, extra wiring but will have full controll of all 4 speakers. Finally a loop run from one amp to the other for my 2 12's i built a box for. The fosgate amp has a nice built in crossover for the low bass and its a easy setup.

However, where did u guys get your turn on remote signel from? I have seen people talk about the rear cig litter, but I'm not found of that option. I have also read about a direct ing. source. What and where....excaltly are you using? Tapping the inside/ or outside fuse box, o running it off an different line? Please help.....I'm almost done and dwant to crank this up trhis weekend,

Thanx
The Sonyman

There were posts about the aux power port between the rear seats and that is what I used as the turn on power for the amp that I put in the trunk. There were four screws to loosen to lift the center console up enough to run a wire to the aux power port which has the green wire as the hot wire.

bluemt6,

I am tackling this issue right now! So you are suggesting tapping the cigarret lighter between the back seats right? So when you turn off the head unit, does your amp shut off via the remote turn on/off? Also where are the screws located? the aux power port will be located under the cigarette lighter? Thanks.

Yes, that device that looks like a lighter is not a lighter but is the aux port and does not turn on or off with the head unit but is controlled by the aux position of the key to start the car. The pass thru panel to the trunk actually lifts out when it is not locked to reveal the first 2 screws. The other screws are hidden under fabric mats in the tunnel where you can run the wire. The mats are in the little compartments where you can store items.

I jumped off the cig lighter...... the truth is, there wont be many times you turn off your radio and even if you do, and the amp is on....its not such a big deal. What i did though, was added a toggle switch. Reason being, if I do want to turn off the amp, i have full control.

I took my car into service, bumpin my lil system .....then when I got the car back hes like, "I heard you coming when you pulled in today and I see you got a sub back there but its not playing.....I juts want you to know we didnt break it"......hahahahaha, exactly want i wanted, to NOT HAVE others playing my system when im not around....so I added the switch inline....worked perfectly:
