Are you able to close the sunglass holder with the radio in there?

I'll probably get flame-roasted for suggesting this in-elegant solution, but I still use the "cassette adaptor" provided in my Delphi (XM) car kit. It's an extra wire snaking around the dash, and I'm sure the audiophiles don't approve its fidelity, but it's a cheap interim solution. It also leaves the FM mode available if I'm around stations that I'm familiar with.

The FM modulator is a PITA if you're travelling long distances, since you're constantly searching for a clear frequency as you encounter interference from local FM broadcast.

Yes..absolutely no problem at all. I like stealth, and with the holder closed, it is maximum stealth.

Nice Job! I just installed mine yesterday. Threw the Starmate in the cup holders for now. I may just leave it there...it's out of the way and plugs perfectly into the extra outlet back there. thanks for the pic

yeah it happened to fit perfectly. I just routed the wires through the headliner, down the window frame and under the dash, have the power just pluged into the outlet in front of the shifter. Pretty easy and just happen to fit perfectly on top of the RVM.

can 2 or 3 or any other way work with stock radio controls for changing channels?

i guess changing channels is the only thing that i would want to do

Otherwise
1. Use the FM modulator -- supposedly lousy sound quality but I'm really not sure about the quality of satellite sound anyway, which is supposed to be similar to mp3's.

2.AuxMod is a small unit hooking up to the cassette connector of your HU, it has aux. audio inputs and you select Sirius by pressing "TAPE" on the HU.

3. PIE adapter hooks up to the back of the HU where the CD changer attaches and has an aux.audio input, you select it by pressing the "CD" button to switch between CD and PIE adapter.

The last two will give you full bandwidth input to the HU and you can also use them to connect other devices like mp3 players or Bluetooth. The down side is that the HU has to be removed for #2 & 3, which can be a pain and risks damaging the unit.

I guess you can start by using the FM modulator built into the Sat radio, maybe that is all you'll want.
Good luck
