Question Mini-Disc Question

I am confused about something. Can you add a mini-disc player to the '05 RX8? I got on Rosenthal Mazda's website and they have listed for sale the MD player for '04-'06 RX8 models...but they also say that you can't use it with the sirius radio receiver. Fine, so I called Mazdausa and they said that the MD player can only be installed on '04 models. Is that true? I could have sworn that I was looking through an '05 RX8 owner's manual and it listed a section discussing how to operate the MD player. I need some info.

I remember my salesman saying that I could install an MD player as well......but we all know how much knowledge they have...

I'd be interested in hearing the answer to griffe's question as well.

as far as it working in the 05, it should work as long as you dont have the 6 disc cd player.

The MD player for the RX-8 (ANY YEAR) installs using the lower moduler section of the radio. It will work with 6 disc changer and or factory Sat.

Rosenthal Mazda responded to my email saying that the MD player would work in 05 RX8. They said you either had MD or Sat. Radio (not both) Mazdausa said that the MD wouldn't work with 6 disc changer. What gives?

I had all these same problems when i got my car. I wanted the 6 CD changer and the MD player. They told me I could only have 1 or the other so I got the MD player. Then I asked people on this forum and they said I could have the the 6CD changer and the MD player. But I really only listen to MD's so I haven't worried about putting in the 6 CD changer. I'm still excited that there is a factory MD option!

I put in my '05 8 the MD AND the MP3 CD player myself in under 2 hours. And yes, the 6 disc changer and the MD player can co-exist, but not the MD / Sat combo because they use the same port from the CD player.
