Custom Kicker System

Hey whats up guys, i got a little further on my sound system, im just looking to get some feed back, it's kinda taking me a while because im a full time college student and also a full time installer, and it's also starting to get really cold in New york, but im trying to get as much done in my spare time as possible, so let me know what you think....

I also just got the in dash mini disc player in, i will be installing it after Christmas, so I will fill you in when I install it...

Im located in mohegan lake ny ,im 1 hour north of nyc.

Im not going to be painting the pannels, im going to wrap the pannels with the same material as my interior (black / Chaparral) the two side pannels will be black and the new pannel i make for the center of the trunk will be chaparral,
Im not shure how exactly im mounting my amps, i have a few different arrangments in mind, but most likely the floating look.

if you want to see some other pictures of the system visit this thread...(PG 1,2)

heres the rough mock up of the setup, its comming along great, now all i have to do is order the material that im going to wrap it in, and finish up wireing it, my 0 guage wire and my batteries are in transit. After the trunk is done i will be able to start on the interior.

well it's kinda like a big puzzle, you just have to put it in one piece at a time and it all comes together,
i will be putting all the pannels back in tommorrow to check the fitment again
before i wrap them, so i will take a couple pictures and post them when everything is in the trunk.

Well im not sure what you mean by "take apart the trunk", but you can gut the trunk by taking out the side pannels and the floor liner,
all you really have to do is tape off your trunk and prep it for fiberglass, and start making molds of the sides with some fiberglass mat, look at the pictures from this thread
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...=audio+pictures
hope this helps.........

the link doesnt work.. by take apart the trunk i mean make the opening bigger so i can fit the sub boxes in..

ex. other cars you can put the back seats down to acces the trunk, having a large opening to fit the sub boxes in... like can i take the rear bumber off and disassemble some stuff to make the opening larger then put it back on?

o...they changed the link, here you go....
https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/audio-pictures-74600/

If you look at gnathen's pictures on the first page he shows some steps on making the molds on the sides,
as far as taking the trunk apart for bigger openings, no, the only other alternitive is if you take apart the back seats, their are some crossbeams in the way but they should just unbolt (i havent taken they off yet so im not sure) but thats still a small opening. your rear seat bottoms just pop up, and the their are 4 12m bolts holding the backs in place, 2 on each side, after you take your seats out you will see the crossbeams.
the Rx8 is defently not an installer frendly car.......

when i put my enclosures in theirs not even an inch of space, like if they were any bigger they wouldnt fit. And i cant put the subs in the enclosure untill the enclousers are in the trunk.
